yah seriously why bother taking them seriously when a sniper foiled the last pirate plot. hell just have a fleet of small boats with snipers on it and the entire African coast will be safe....then the pirates can leave the seas and be land pirates....yar!

These scum are little more than actors; look at them posing with their guns in front of the camera.

However, they probably have the requisite intelligence to point and shoot, since after all they managed the camera. (Sarcasm intended.)

Then again, they also know that, if they kill off their hostages, they will a) certainly never get any money, b) almost certainly invite reprisal upon themselves, which I know would scare me plenty.

They must know how, in recent months, people like them have been completely wiped by troops. They will thus have to be cautious.

it's sad watching those poor ppl pleading for their lives but the problem with paying the ransoms, ie giving into terrorists is that this onyl encourages more terrorism
heck, ever since the first governments paid off the somali pirates, they've only gotten richer and can take on more ships

no, i'm afraid we're going to have to do this the smae old way we've done it
refuse to negotiate, or only negotiate to save time enough for special forces to rescue them

It would be a dumb thing to give the pirates money, because if so they will most certainly do this thing again, and again. The best thing to do would be to send in a special force.
