I dont see why this was taken out in Empire. It was in Rome and Medieval and no one complained. Im not asking for flying arms and exploding heads. Just a short spray of blood from being shot, a pool of blood developing when a unit with a fatal wound is down on the ground etc. Blood splaters on the uniforms as the battle progresses and dirt when marching through fields as it rains. Maybe show men go flying when a cannon ball hits them instead of collapsing on the spot. Nothing too extreme. It would add a lot of immersion instead of seeing neat poster boys playfighting. And there can be an option to turn this off for those who dont want it.

This has already been asked many times. Don't be surprised if it falls on deaf ears.

    What?

    Sorry, couldn't resist it

I agree that CA should take a step back and show the brutal harsh realities of battle and the effects of war. Not that they're exactly promoting it, but I believe it would be a strategic move to give TW players a taste of what war can be...

I think its because CA wants to give their game a certain rating, teens under 15 can buy it. But because they have made their graphics more relestics, so the same with the blood. But I would like some mud on their trousers in battle.

It would be nice to see, but CA gave it up after MTW2, I blame the Germans and their pansy laws, CA dont want to lose a few sales there.

It's true that blood and similar is excluded because the rating will go up, but Total War games are easily modified for a reason... If the people want blood they will make sure they get it.

At the very least, have the option to turn it on/off, right? Or would that still affect the rating?
Let me persuade you with my powerful logic skills.

itd still affect the rating cos its still possible in that game.

i think the dirt would be easily implemented as theyve said stuff like dirt flying as cavalry run through and stuff, so why not dirt on uniforms when they walk/run through this?

Why does Company Of Heroes not take out the swearing and the dismemberment to increase sales then? And what difference does it really make to sales, I mean how many children under 15 stiil get their grubs on it anyway?
At the same time, wouldn't NTW's sales increase if it had the same effects that Company Of Heroes had in it? In fact if it did, minus the bad language then I bet quite a few kids would still persaude parents to get it.

I don't know any parents(but there must be some) who stick purely to the age guide lines. Most of us use common sense don't we? Which I don't believe these age ratings do often enough. Does the gamey visceral bodily dismemberment in COH really harm kids, get real, when I walked my kid to school we would see the real s..t, dismembered birds via cats(big dead Rat full of maggots my kid found on my patio last week), freshly dragged along the road, roadkill, all the guts squished out, you know rabbits, cats, hedgehogs. Never saw a parent of a 5yr old kid freak out over it, and that's real poop, not something which is obviously just a game. To many dammed idiots out there making up the rules, and because often the rules are so dumb-ass, we feel inclinded to bend them.

Compared to almost every other game out there, Total War games are ridiculously easy to modify even without modding tools. Of course it's even easier with modding tools but you can't possibly mean that E:TW is difficult to mod, no way.

Blood is already in the game (see the videos) but dirt wont be, I dont think. Mainly because there is little evidence that dirt was going to be in Empire (e.g they promised blood but cut it out, enabling modders to bring it back in but there is no evidence of cut-out dirt)

People say this about almost every feature that hasn't with the BAI or AI to do. It's just stupid, since total war games benefit alot by the small details and stuff that adds to immersion.

One single feature might not add much, but think of the larger picture. Please. There ain't nothing more important than polishing the game, which we noticed in the severely bugged and stupid ETW.

Eh, save CA the trouble and just let the modders do it.
