What can I expect?

Well, I just bought Rome: Total war, Barbarian invasion and Alexander.
So, I was just curious what I should expect in this?

I'v played M:TW2 and Kingdoms.
But I just wanted to know, Who'd be a good faction for me and such..Seeing as I'm just starting.

An astute purchase!!

A wide-ranging question...

Expect a less-detailed campaign with fewer agents, ie no merchants, princessess, priests or annoying pope. In some ways thats better as it gets down to the basics...spies, assassins, diplomats..
Expect a lot more squalor and civil unrest...drives me nuts and is one of the reasons I prefer M2..not as much hassle.
Graphics not as good as M2 but still certainly acceptable.
Diplomacy fairly basic, and as with all tw games...expect backstabbing and betrayals.
Faction-wise, players at campaign start are limited to choice of three Roman families...conquest and completion unlocks the other factions ( immediate all-playable thru file edits)
I prefer playing non-Romans, others will have their favourites.
Easiest start faction is probably the red guys.

I figured I'd have to edit files to unlock everything, But I'll play fairly and unlock them.
Also, I'm glad there is no pope, He gets mad at me alot.

And I'm not to much of a graphic's whore.
Mostly because I'll be buying Shogun: Total war and Mongol invasion at some point.

And the Red faction is the Julius family, Right?

I'v been looking through this forum for a few weeks not in the Rome section, So I could get the hang of things.

Easiest starting faction are the Julii (Red Romans). They fight the Gauls, which are really easy to beat. Your biggest challenges will be Britannia, Germania (as a new player), and possibly the Greek Cities. Also, be wary of the other Romans later on.

And if and when you get sick of Vinilla you will find +20 mod options!

I recomend Roma surrectum myself.

I think Troy: Total War looks interesting.

You might need to edit the files a bit, I dont remember, but play as Parthia ASAP. They are a very fun eastern faction to play.

I dont remember if you have to mod Parthia in, it might be Armenia, but Parthia is very fun, unless you dont like horse archers and heavy cav

In medieval total war is the best faction England.
In medieval total war kingdoms is the best faction Teutonic Order
And i dont know anything about Barbarian invasion,because i dont like it.
Medieval kingdoms best modification is MEDIEVAL II - KINGDOMS GRAND CAMPAING MOD.

nah I say XGM is the best, but everyone is different. I have heard RtR and RS are great

cool, Greece is the richest area in the game, conquer it, asia minor, and italy and you will have huge income

i recommend to let egypt grow. Later in the game when the western Mediterranean is yours you would still have a strong opponent and the will not be boring.

Yah letting Eygpt grow can be fun, but make sure to grab the nile delta ASAP when you face them

You can expect... To download a mod called Europa Barbarorum, because as with all Total War titles, it's absolutely **** without a good mod.

I really enjoy the game.
My main army lead by Memnon has 2208 troops.
So, I'v beaten 3 Roman stacks of 800 without a single loss.

If the game has anti aliasing enabled in the video options menu, then screenshots will be black. To make the screenshots visible, pull up the video options and turn off anti aliasing. Then take your screenshots. You can turn anti aliasing back on when you are done.
