    Icon1 Elven infantry

Ok so bassicly i was defending a city with 2 units of elven infantry, and a few units of only around 60 to 80 each, of mith warriors, eldar spear and sword. And several archers. So, mordor comes in with 4 units of uruks and 4or5 of orc raiders 1 ram and 1 ladders. I put one unit of elven infantry on the wall i knew the uruks would ladder, my archers on another wall, and the rest in guard mode behind my gate. So all hell breaks loose, and the 300 or so elite eleves, along with 120 elven infantry, are slowly being obliterated.. But remarkably i look to my wall and see 35 uruks climbing down from my walls and fleeing for their lives and my unit of 90 eleven infantry standind proudly on the wall. I was like wtf? Because at the gates i am always slaughtered if 120 elves fought 250 uruks. What happened?.
All this on plain 1.3 tatw. Btw i ended up winning thanks to archers

ladders are pretty bad when facing any kind of decent unit, they force your guys to enter the battle, atop the wall, one man at a time. so when facing a good unit, in this case your infantry, they get decimated almost before even getting to fight. however with siege towers, 5-6 troops drop down at the same time and clear an area for the res of your unit

    bottom line: ladders suck

When playing an evil factions I shutter every time I have to go up against elves in combat. Even with superior forces you will take huge casulties before bringing down an elven stack. Heck I remember the first time I got attacked by the Sylvan while playing as Mordor.

It was a fortress they assulted so I did what I usually do, leave two or three units at the outter wall to keep the towers and oil active and place the rest at the inner wall to defend against what makes it through. It started out as usual, but then when they whiped out the units on the wall I got a shock as their archers standing on the outer wall began firing at and killing my archers on the inner wall O_O. THEN they moved the other 80% of their forces which didn't even particiapate in the outer wall taking and began assulting the inner wall. Needless to say, after that game I made VERY certain not to anger the elves until I was well prepared to take them on.

Lol, the worst elves are hundred years trained warriors (in thousand years trained in their civil jobs) with few armor but good weapons.

Yeah, build up your power before you take on the Elves ever. If you try to camp in Dol Guldur and kill off Gondor, you will do better than taking on the Elves and Gondor simultaneously.
