Are you trying to give the unit a weapon with a tech type that's either "simple", "blade" or "missile"?

im not quite sure what that means

i have melee_blade under melee skeleton and when i check it it seems to be ok, i just need to assain a primary weapon. however when i chose a weapon the program tells me the weapon is not available for kingdoms

?? melee skeleton is supposed to be the skeleotn used by the unit in DMB (it's supposed to be "fs_whatever"; melee_blade is a weapon tech). You are trying to give the unit a weapon which has been given an invalid weapon tech in Core Data. Just check that weapon's entry in the Cora Data and you'll see.

I was under the impression the error messages were more detailed than just "the weapon is wrong". is that the exact message you are getting, no more info?

ok i changed the melee skeleton, now the log says
Primary weapon's (1.5-handed sword) tech type (blade) incompatible with mod platform (KGDM).

It's because the tech type "blade" is not available in Kingdoms. You need to change it to "melee_simple", "melee_blade" (this is the equivalent of RTW's "blade") or any other of the tech types the Kingdoms engine supports.

Column AU of Unit Defs, you have not set the unit's projectile id (the entry that goes there is the "type of projectile as defined in descr_projectile - or whatever the file is called in M2).

    salve amicus aradan

might thy humble servant add another suggestion?

i have just discoverd this http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=344341 thread
and think it would be a good idea to be able to add custom attributes in the core data section, one column after where allready the special ability pull down menues are (thus at the end of the dwelling and special type sections)
this way a entry like garrison_unit could be created which i think would come in very handy

    fare thee well
    thy greatest worshipper

btw hows the work for the next release going?

I didn't know units could be assigned custom attributes in M2. I will add sth for it, maybe a couple of columns.

The next release of EDUmatic? Kinda slow atm, extremely busy with uni and other commitments, but it will be done...

The custom attributes can be referenced in the script, extremely useful when removing\deleting specific units. I am using it in a garison script so the AI doesn't get a free stack of units every time one of his cities get sieged. Garrison units spawned have a custom attribute which is then referenced when disbanding the units after the siege is over.

Well, spotted, here's the fixed file:

Fix will be included in the next 'official' update.

    and another thing
when creating ships i get error logs because no armour is assigned in the advanced version
when assigning one i get errors too
there is a workaround by just typing "1" in the "armour upgr0" collumn
but somehow i think this isn't meant this way
especially as it works perfectly well in the basic version with not assigning any armour at all

    a very strange bug occured
    i created a "holy cross" siege-type engine
at first everything worked well but when i tried to change the cost colum in the Engine Type section of the coredata tab (the unit did cost over 20.000 ) i no longer could create the unit but got: runtime error 6 "overflow"
after looking into the debugger and asking google i figuered changing CInt to CLng could solve the problem and it did
have a look at the file in NOT working condition
odd that noone besides me seems to get all those nasty bugs... maybe now is the time to become paranoid?
