Why this game is so freekin sweet!

Hey guys,

Don't really post much but been playing TATW since it's release, I have to say you've pretty much ruined my 'Big move' to London...In a good way!

Playing this game is just an enveloping experience, no matter which faction you take, I thought at first that going as either mordor or Gondor would be a walk over, it turned out not so! quite the opposits infact.

I've completed the game with Ootmm initially (Love goblins!) Dwarfs, Gondor and Mordor, and I have to say that each and every one was an unique and involving experience that sucked me in and at times SPAT ME OUT!

When ever I play a game of TW I always set rules before I begin, I rarely take too much cavalry, I never use fire arrows, I never 'camp' the square when im being invaded (Killed about 1200 troops with boling oil last night!) I usually do all these things so the game is difficult and the sense of accomplish is higher.

But boy oh boy when a full stack of dwarfs first attacked my settlemet as Ootmm I got freekin Pwned! The guardians of the vault literally walked through about 5 full stacks of my spearmen! I then began having to camp the square, sallying forth and teing them up with cav, keeping 3 units of balista in the square when I got besiged...AND I WAS STILL LOSING! HAHA brilliant!

Well I'm currentley playing as Gondor, I've given two settlements away to the Elfs and Rohan to seal an alliance and trade rights, but jesus have mordor stepped up thier game. I have managed to maintain a fairly strong force of militia at the white city but I'm besisged every turn from full stack after full stack, there are atleast four stacks between that and the city on the river (Forgot the name sorry) That and Rohan are taking a beating from Mordor Isengard and The easterlings! The elfs are at war with Dale which isn't helping and my last contact with the dwarfs showed that they only had the settlements in the top right remaining!

Anyway, just to say that I don't think I will ever play a game that is this addictive and this involving, it's an amazing challenge and If I could get it on my show on Bravo (Gameface) I would! (But we only do consoles!

)

Anyway what nitty gritty parts of the mod really get you guys so involved?

The website is going fine. I am basically making the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) templates for the pages, so visually there is nothing new but behind the scenes it is improving.

I deeply enjoy that feeling you get when hundreds of elves shoot a fantastic volley of flaming arrows straight into one of the evil factions units and in under 10 seconds you see the unit of 250 orcs drop to a miserable amount of roughly 150. Then quickly selecting another unit, and just watching massive amounts of orcs die in the miserable way they desserve to.

and that warm feeling you get inside when you execute the thousands of prisoners you just took

i only massacre evil factions this way hehe. It just makes me feel way better than m2tw. I mean i just feel like i've actually done something of pupose. Because in my old m2tw game, even as being england and owning all of europe it just didnt feel like i had done anything worth something. Plus in tatw you cannot be excomunicated for proceeding to eliminate the faction who attacked you first, then have every other faction against you, eventually driving you to insanity and even attacking the papacy and actually killing off the pope himself. Lol... Fighting islamic factions is not nearly as fuffilling as destroying the orcs and goblins responsible for the deaths of all of the good people of middle earth. Sending morgoths minions to the abyss is a satisfaction unsupassed by all others in my opinion. And thats why tatw really gets me going.

Yea.....

I like this mod because is fantasy mod for TW...and no more than that.

For LOTR lore ... pfff ...i have no much interest for lore than just for inspiration...no more than that.

I am far to protect the lore like inquisition has made for the church.

The lore has been written once...and i want to write another story in this game...not just to follow the flow of the events written in a

ing book.

This game can be fun long time for players who like good factions.

I...personally...don't like them...

I play just with evil factions and i started to be tired and sick by the attention of the game developer in this point.

Its very very annoying to hear all the time my generals,screaming ''OOORCS" "OOORCS" and other few ****,with the voice of constipated goblin.

It is true....this mod have some good parts or many in another points...but is FAAAAAR to be fair for all or perfect.

So now I'm playing as Dale. And I don't gonna be a Good faction king

We are proud northmen, vikings of Middleearth, not servants of Gondor or anybody else!
We are not a Good faction, we hate everyone equally. Our alliances with Dwarfs and Elves was made only for our own interest.
And one day, vikings will bring some fire to those brilliant forests, yeah

It's not ready

Actual progress
Testing, modding and debuging
Map - 90% it is ready now and it work fine but we wanna add some more features
Strat models - 80% - i need 2 - 3 weeks to make them all
Units - 95% we have all core units but we havent some special units like Trolls, griffin, dragons
Scripts 70% - we have alot of scripts but some of them like "Storm of
Chaos" need huge bugtest
