Armenian are destroying Garaji cemetery in Azerbaijan’s occupied Agdam region.

200-year old cemetery is located 6-7 kilometers outside the center of the Agdam region.

Various media outlets have repeatedly reported that the Armenians destroy Azerbaijani cemeteries in the occupied territories, take away tombstones and iron bars from the cemeteries to use them as building materials.

Apparently, the cemetery in Agdam suffered the same fate.

As is seen from the photographs, cemetery is purposefully destroyed. It has suffered extensive damage. The graves of Azerbaijanis are desecrated.

The cemetery can be completely destroyed and disappear in future.

After forcing inhabitants of Azerbaijan’s Agdam region to flee, the Armenian occupation forces are now trying to destroy the past of these people.

“Destruction of Azerbaijan’s cemeteries testifies to a barbaric approach by invaders to spiritual and material values in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan,” Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov said.

Garaji cemetery in Azerbaijan’s Agdam region is currently being destroyed by Armenians.

“Armenia has repeatedly carried out barbaric actions against the monuments of cultural history, as well as religious monuments located both on the territory of Armenia and occupied Azerbaijani territories,” he said.

“We have circulated abundant evidence about it in all international organizations through our missions abroad,” Polukhov said.

The new evidence once again testifies to a barbaric approach by invaders to spiritual and material values in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, he added.

If the destruction is ongoing now, then why are the destroyers sucking at it so much? A handful of crumbling headstones and dozens of standing headstones. Looks exactly like the neglected cemeteries I see all the time around where I live.

The graves pictured are in approximately the same condition as graves I've seen in Armenia (presumably of Armenians given the text on them) from the same period.

There is always the possibility of vandalism, since there's jackasses everywhere, but considering most of the graves pictured are standing, and the text, in cyrillic and arabic text, is still legible, it doesn't seem there is some kind of systematic destruction or attempt to efface the graves going on here.
