I would like to see the expectation and thoughts of the TWC members on Napoleon Total War. Myself, I believe that it is going to be a better game then ETW, and may be the best to date, but we can not be sure of the gameplay yet. And NO Creative Assembly bashing or any rants about how bad you think the Total War games are. Only constructive posts, on what you believe will be in the game.

In CA's evolution-revolution cycle, NTW is the evolution of ETW, so I won't expect any big new features(but the supply thing sounds promising) On the other hand I will have high expectations for the fleshing out and polishing of its contents. There better not be any huge bugs and UI glitches this time. And there won't be any excuse for glaring AI or balance problems.

Difficult to say. I can't say I expect the next TW game to be the best of all time... though Rome followed my previous least favourite, M:TW, Rome was not nearly so heavily based on M2. Nobody suspected Rome of being an inflated expansion to M2!

I suspect N:TW will be very similar to Empire, though not as similar as some accusations suggest. It is evident that more care is being taken to ensure a polished launch, but on the other hand, it has been made very clear that content will suffer from rigorous adherence to the orderly constraints CA are now working under. The fact that it is so far through production and very few features that the community hoped or expected to return have been confirmed or even alluded to, suggests that there will be no enormous jump in playability.

I could list the wonderful things that I think will differ from its precursor, such as pre-battle speech re-inclusion, a uniform editor (though I suspect this will be very constrained; don't expect the ability to change equipment or abilities; there will perhaps be colour sliders for trousers, jacket, facings and strap, but details such as helmet and horse colouration will be static for any given unit type), improved performance, impressive particle effects... but I believe most people here are up to date on the announcements and as far as I'm concerned, there is no evidence to suggest increased modder support and as long as this remains the case, all speculation will be invitation for disappointment, to put it bluntly.

(Also, I am not sure that it is possible to post something that we both believe will already be in the game and that we consider constructive... think about it )

I want an immersive game that feels intuitive and is fun to play and and not the bug-fest that was empire pre 1.5.

Maybe i'm hoping for too much....

I'm glad people are not expecting much, because they won't assume so much about the game, like we did with ETW. If we don't assume much, then we it is released, their is no expectations, and if it is a great game, we will appreciate it more, if its only as good at ETW, then at least we won't be as dissapointed as we where for ETW.
