The anti-ILLEGAL immigration movement has very little to do with racism. In fact Mexican-Americans occupy leadership positions in groups such as the "Minutemen". Now, I realize that MSNBC told you otherwise and this may come as a bit of a shock, but believe it or not it's true.

Immigrants are just the modern day scapegoat as the jews were in nazi germany for all of america's ills. Yes, but that's mainly because non-racist people like me who also favor tightly controlled immigration, would never go to an anti-immigration rally.

The problem with immigration is our system not that people are coming into the borders,
The economic stratus looks kinda like this with many individual exceptions

*English/Scottish lowlanders at the top they dominate the upper and upper middle class
*The germans/norwegians/swedes dominate the middle and upper middle middle as they were the first wave of immigrants to receive free land(which I find kinda funny since they all claim they came here with nothing) 160 acres is a sweet deal. America's first socialist experiment

*slavs, italians and irish and african americans dominate the working and lower middle classes as they either came after the free land deal or were highly descriminated against.

*Poor or working poor
Dominated by recent immigrants illegal or legal and or groups highly disenfranchised like appalachia, reservations, african americans.

Immigrants like vietnamese, cambodians, mexicans and other latin americans that came from the poorest segments of society due to corruption or war in their home countries.

Immigrant success exceptions jews and northern asians and indians who generally come with a huge network of support systems that help them succeed, ie they financially support each other.
