Default Couple of Questions & Wow, Armenia is Tough!

Okay, I looked around for this on the forums, but for the life of me I just couldn't find it. Where can I go (what file) to modify the ammount of starting cash for my faction?

Also, does anyone know the exact file where I can modify the 'personality' of the AI?

I am waiting on these mods before starting a new campaign.

And as a general thread of discussion.. Holy crap, playing as Armenia is TOUGH!

I finally got bored with my eeeeeennnndlesssssss Roman campaign (last time I choose the long victory conditions) on H/H, and next I wanted to try Armenia... also on H/H

Well, it started off well. I carved out a nice little kingdom, and I was making good money each turn. I put forts at my southern borders even before the Seleucids started a war. Then, I forted up the northern reaches against Scythia.. And then of course Scythia attacked too!

Well, I figured I could still prevail, because I was completely owning in the battles... Then Pontus attacked!! Gaaahhhh!!

I played it out for a few turns after that, but the end was inevitable... No money, only problems. I think the campaign may be possible if you could somehow keep Pontus from attacking and get them into a war with the Seleucids.

Guess I'll give it a go on M/H, and see how it goes, but FIRST I want to give myself more starting cash, and make the Seleucids and Greeks build more missile units..

You can change both in [RTW]/xgm/data/world/maps/campaigns/[campaign name]/descr_strat.txt.

To increase your own starting cash you can also use the "add_money" cheat. To do that press the "~" key and type "add_money 10000" or however much you want.

Armenia is definitely a tough campaign. You might want to try it with reduced AI bonuses.

another question: if I modify something like a particular unit's stats, do I have to start a new campaign for that to take effect?

and, uhh.. where do I modify unit stats? =\

You can change unit stats in [rtw]/xgm/data/export_descr_units.txt. If all you do is change stats you won't need to start a new campaign. Adding or removing units can cause problems if you don't do it right.

    McDonalds?

On topic: Armenia is tough, but a lowered campaign difficulty really helps as it lowers AI aggression. Might be enough to keep Pontus off your back and on TSE's.
