Well, hello everyone ...
I had an idea about how to make some "alternative" or "provisional" versions of the most important buildings of the game (such as Minas Tirith, the Helm's Deep, Edoras, Minas Morgul, Isengard, the Black Gate , Weathertop(Amon Sul), etc ...) ,for the reason that now it's very very difficult (if not impossible)change the models of the cities with those seen in the movies ...
Briefly, my idea is this:
when the player plays a battle near one of these buildings, it could make in the background of the map an "illusory" model of these in order to give the impression that you are fighting close to these buildings. To explain better, I post here a picture taken from LOTR TW:
Well, now I think that this picture explains better my idea than all my words in regard to this.
So now I turn to the modders: What do you think about it?? It would be possible to do something like that?? Guess so, given the fact that someone have already created it for older videogames than Medieval II Total War, no? I think that would be a good idea to implement the immersion of the player in Middle-earth, don't you think??
It would be great fight the battle of the Pelennor Fields, with a model of Minas Tirith in the background, like in the picture that I posted above. And the same thing would be valid for all the other main buildings.
Now I post here some photos of each building (taken from a distance view) that could be useful to create what I mean.
- Minas Tirith: it's very easy to find photos about it on Internet;
- Helm's Deep:
- Edoras:
- Minas Morgul:
- Isengard: it's very easy to find photos about it on Internet, but I post here this photo only as an example
- Weathertop (Tower of Amon Sûl):
- the Black Gate:
If it is closed
Or, if it is opened, I would very much like that between the two "gates", it could see in the distance the Mount Doom and the Tower of Barad-dûr, as in these photos
or, alternatively, simply so
I want specify that I intend to maintain the current models of the fortresses and the cities (where the players can besiege them) ...
my idea is mainly addressed to the "map of the battle", when the players fight the battles near these buildings.
What do you think?? Comments are welcome.
Thanks
