I got the same system so this shouldn't be the problem.
    Have you got kingdoms installed?

I have kingdoms installed and TATW 1.3....Ive installed 1.0+1.1b+1.2+1.3 in that order....The game starts with unspecified error just after splash screen....If I run as admin the bat I get the windows cannot find kingdoms.exe.
    Please is there a solution?

Try to change the name of the "third_age"-folder to for example Crusader, and change crusader to crusader1

And then as normal, run Crusader, and Third Age will run

I have been having similar issues trying to DL the 1.5 patch as well. When I prepared to Install, via EXE., the installer ' can't find the correct' folder mission aborted! I will give this a shot.

You can edit bat-files manually, just right-click and edit, and if you find this inside it everything is in order.

    Code:
    cd ..\..
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\Third_Age\TATW.cfg

But it sounds more like one of the installers is corrupted
Could you show us your system-log?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    ...medieval 2 total war\logs\system.log.txt

If one of the installers is corrupted, the system-log will refer to missing files/entries.

Yeah, yeah, you have said that 2 times now, and I still can't see myself mentioning it?

Third Age generates it automatically, but now it seems like it crashes before the System log is created.

Install Third Age 1.0 part1 & part2, try to run it, if it doesn't run you re-download the both parts, reinstall
and see if it runs, if it does continue to 1.1 and do the same way until you have 1.3 installed.

Then enjoy Third Age Total War! if it works
