    Default Starting Family Members

First of all I have absolutely no idea if I am in the correct place but here goes.

Is there any way to make new familily members (which come of age at 16) deviod of any traits or ancillaries? Effectively creating a blank canvass where everyone has to earn their stars/ whatever. This came about after I had a military genious spawn who was stark raving mad, could happen but how do they become military genious' when they spend their days hooting like an owl?

I know how to edit descr_strat to make the starting generals and such have no traits/ Anc.

But where would the excitement be in new family members and adoptions and marriages?

Anyway, the file you want is export_descr_character_traits.txt. This file is made up of two portions, the first lists all traits and their levels and effects; the second portion lists the triggers which assign these traits. That is the section you want.

There are a few triggers you want to look for. They are:
    WhenToTest CharacterComesOfAge
    WhenToTest OfferedForMarriage
    WhenToTest OfferedForAdoption
    WhenToTest LesserGeneralOfferedForAdoption

These triggers determine traits a new general may have. To nullify them, look down a few lines for the word "Affects" followed by a trait name and a number.
This tells you what traits this trigger gives, and what percent chance.
Simply put a ";" (semicolon) in front of each affects line to remove the effects of these triggers.

Remember to make back ups before doing any of this. And save and check your work often.

Actually I don't think you can have empty triggers, so you'd need to comment out the whole trigger.

I'm pretty sure you can't have a percentage of 0, besides leaving a trigger in place that does nothing would just be slowing the game down (admitedly not a huge slow down) for no purpose.
