Patch 8.1 includes latest Dark Formations??

Hi, I'm new to Darthmod (for RTW). I'm a little confused. After installing 8.0 and 8.1, do I still need to install Dark Formations 16.2, or is that included in the patch? Is there an easy way to check if I have the formations installed properly? If I start a custom battle with the AI controlling a Roman army, will they form up in clear manipular formation?

Also, is there a thread which discussing the various campaigns included in Darthmod? Does anyone have recommendations? Anything wrong with just doing the normal vanilla Imperial Campaign, or am I then missing out on some part of Darthmod besides just the layout of the particular campaigns?

Well, I can't get patch 8.1 to work. I've gone through the installation routine several times, and 8.0 always works, but once I install 8.1, it doesn't work anymore. If I try to start the game, the screen sort of goes black or whatever like it's about to start, but then it goes away (does not show up in processes or anything). If I try to start the BI exe, it gets a little farther, to the Darthmod 8.1 splash screen, but also eventually just goes away. I am using Vista, and have installed and tried running both 8.0 and 8.1 as administrator.

Anyway, if I can't get patch 8.1 to work, then I guess I will just be using 8.0. 8.0 does not include the formations, correct? So how do I add them?


If anyone has ideas about how I could get 8.1 to work, I'd be very appreciative.

You have to check where you install 8.0 and then in the same directory to install 8.1.

8.0 has a wrong default directory "programs" instead of the typical "program files" but it is easy to target it as per instructions.

You must have 8.0+8.1+latest formations to have the full experience.
