Al Ashira Correct translation is The Tribe or The Clan
Keep in your mind that Al in arabic means The or somtimes Of.

Yeah, no problem. In this case I think the Arabic is correct but maybe the English translation is wrong.
The term is a direct transliteration of the term used by the historian Ibn al-Qalanisi who lived from 1073-1176 (465-555 in the Islamic calendar). He was the Ra'i of Damascus. The transliteration was done by a historian named Nuwayri in 1908.
Could shira be a different word than you are thinking? Or maybe his dialect is different.
Can someone pls repost picture of this unit? I would realy love to see how it looks like.......

We had German for four years in high-school and I never could really get the hang of it. A shame too, for us Slovenes it's more practical to know German than English, a lot of people go to work in Austria or in your country because you have a much better chance of getting a decent job there.
