Yeah. Sadly for the Serbians it is. But I say it will take time before the Serbs are not still angry about it.

I think because just a general lack of knowledge about that region.

Tbh, I don't think that the US should have supported anyone in that god awful place in the world. Kosovars, Serbians, Albanians, Bosnians. Even if we came and steamrolled that entire region, we couldn't get them to agree on the pope's religion.

The people of Nagorno-Karabakh have always voted for independence from Azerbaijan and it is a classical example of self-determination. Well after the war, Nagorno Karabakh has de-facto independence but that is not good enough. It's a shame that everything is so hypocritical

I do have to say that on a grammatical level the sentence "Kosovo is Serbia" is stupid, because Kosovo is clearly not Serbia. It may have been Serbian or a part of Serbia, but to say "Kosovo is Serbia" just equates the two.

the Kosovo affair (i.e. forceful splitting a chunk of country off and declare it independent) has set an extremely dangerous precedent in international law. now everybody and their brother want to be independent and point towards Kosovo as an example.
