The De Facto state of Kosovo has its first elections. Will this have any factor is Serb-Kosovor relations?

Yes. Serbs will cry and vow revenge. Then do resume brainstorming up different ways to say "Kosovo is Serbia" over and over and over and....

and clueless Americans will say stupid like this...

So. . . no change to Serb-Kosovor relations?

My question is: If Kosovo is Serbia, what does that make Serbia?

The Serbs should just deal with it. Province of Kosovo is gone.

Yeah. Sadly for the Serbians it is. But I say it will take time before the Serbs are not still angry about it.

In my mind the same lack of knowledge in america that makes them unable to understand how much Kosovo means to the Serbian people.

I don't think it will spark any tensions. Unless the Kosovar or Serb authoritites want to escalte tensions

Tbh, I don't think that the US should have supported anyone in that god awful place in the world. Kosovars, Serbians, Albanians, Bosnians. Even if we came and steamrolled that entire region, we couldn't get them to agree on the pope's religion.

If Kosovo gets its official independence and is recognized by all of western world, why shouldn't Nagorno-Karabakh. The people of Nagorno-Karabakh have always voted for independence from Azerbaijan and it is a classical example of self-determination. Well after the war, Nagorno Karabakh has de-facto independence but that is not good enough. It's a shame that everything is so hypocritical

I think because just a general lack of knowledge about that region. I don't think the US paid any attention to it at all until the war last year.

    Azerbaijan wasn't conquered by NATO.

Kinda hard for us to dictate what their new borders should be until we do.

I do have to say that on a grammatical level the sentence "Kosovo is Serbia" is stupid, because Kosovo is clearly not Serbia. It may have been Serbian or a part of Serbia, but to say "Kosovo is Serbia" just equates the two.

I wonder who won the election: the heroin mafia or the sex-trade mafia?

I would love it if Romania's eBay scammers won the election. They at least show some level of competence and thought...

the Kosovo affair (i.e. forceful splitting a chunk of country off and declare it independent) has set an extremely dangerous precedent in international law. now everybody and their brother want to be independent and point towards Kosovo as an example.

dont tell Russians they didn't warn the arrogant anglo-saxons that it was a horrible idea .

No, I don't think it will affect relations unless those who come to power want to escalate tensions with Serbia.

Or maybe a Kosovar leader that will want to invade and take over Serbia.

Kosovo. You've never had a "Balkans logic" class?

Have you been there? No? Didn't think so.
Have you ever been to Afghanistan? No? Then why are you discussing it here?:
