    Default Removing buildings from RTW

    After adding Spain to the playable factions in RTW, and making a campaign description, I started a campaign, and quickly noticed that the temples to Epona had an "awesome temple" and a "pantheon" level, which, in its description, looked like a Roman Barracks. Therefore, I decided to remove any traces of these building levels from the export_descr_buildings.txt, export_descr_buildings_enum.txt, and the text/export_buildings.txt. My problem now is that the games has a CTD as soon as I end the first turn, and I'm certain I've forgot to remove the temple tiers from another file, but I just don't get which file that is.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    PS: I've tried the -show_err function, but in vain.

    the reason the building was showing up as a barracks was probably because it didn't have the necessary entry in;
    data\ui\culture\buildings
    whereupon it defaults to the barracks.tga

    that isn't necessarily a major problem you just need to put a correctly named .tga in there.

    If you try and remove some buildings completely from the EDB you often find there is an error message generated because the advice files expect to find a building with that name... and don't. There are odd occasions where you can have an error that doesn't generate a message that masks the other errors which would otherwise give you a show_err message, it sounds like you've achieved that!

    I'd recommend revert back to the original files, and if you really don't want a building that might have advice file links to not be available add a resource to the top to EDB like 'not_here', then add 'requires hidden resource not_here' to the buildings you don't want to be usable.... delete your map.rwm so it 'recognises' the new resource, but don't actually add the resource to any regions.

    The reason it shows up as a barracks is because those building tiers aren't meant to exist. In-game descriptions of these are just warnings that the descriptions shouldn't be seen at all. When the tiers' names are "Temple of Horse Awesome Temple" and "Temple of Horse Pantheon", it indicates the very same thing.

    The hidden resource trick works like a charm. Thanks a lot.

    EDIT: It's reverted back to CTDs when ending the turn again. Annoying. I run Windows 7, so no error messages either...
