Default Lost in the mod djungel. Just want a good AI to my SS.

    Hi. From Sweden here.

I'm not used to mod games or install them. Although I manage to get Stainless Steel 6.2.4 http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=302184 working, hurray for me.
Anyway, I haven't tested it yet but I can't find anywhere that it says that the Battle AI is improved?

    I installed RR/RC http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=300716 - first one, recomended.
But I noticed that some changes I didn't really like. It feels to much.
The turns take longer time, the game feels abit unsmooth - I guess thats because the improved ai, but do I really need all of it?
I didn't really like the Portraits and some Unitcards, don't know if it something changed or necessary.
So I guess I'll have to reinstall Totalwar (again), because you can't uninstall mods right? Isn't there a ModManager to make it simple? Kinda stress you out when you have to reinstall the whole game everytime you want to change or roll-back. Maybe I should make a backup or something.

I'm not that experianced with Totalwar either, Never played more than around 30turns. I allways end up changing nation or try to add mods and restart the game.

What I'm after is a better AI both on the Map and in Battle. As it feels now in vanilla its just the same.
Build economy -> Build a big army -> lay siege -> repeat.
I've never experianced that I'd have to defend my country againts many small armies, like being invaded from alot of places. Only that the Ai gathers a large force and lays siege.
Maybe its my playstyle, maybe I'd should divide my army in to smaller groups and attack at different locations.

Anyhow to sum it all up abit.
I like Stainless Steel, so I'd like to keep that. But, I'd like a better BattleAI.
I'm kinda lost. Which should I choose?
    'ReallyBadAI'
    'Byg's Grim Reality'
    'RC / RR' ?
Or That 'XAi' - I saw video of it and it looked really fun. But then I tried to find some installation guide or anything. But it looked as if it wasn't done yet? Or maybe its just very hard to install?

Edit: Is there any mod that makes unit not go spread out as much as they do while fighting?
If two melee units fight eachother, at the end, they've spread out backwards and just the front guys that are fighting. And it just looks awful. I think you know what I mean?

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers.

I was asking the same questions a few days ago too.
    Answers-
    1. You can uninstall/remove mods without uninstalling the game. Use the uninstaller given with the mod, Use an install manager to install then unistall mods or simply delete the mod from the mods folder in main Total war Directory.
    2. BYG is now intregrated with RCRR. with RCRR you have the option to use BYG mod or leave it. Read the first post in RCRR forum for details to install.
    3. XAI seems to have a problem with RCRR mod try not to use it. But still XAI will make batlles better if used. This site is very unorganized and it is hard to find proper details about the right mod and How to install etc. Post your dissatisfaction in the forums maybe people will make information more user friendly. I know I had to waste a lot of time to get the right information.
    4. Read the forum rules.
    5. Really Bad AI is said to be compatible with RCRR mod I am using it. But haven't played enough with it to make a solid statement. It is a Battle AI nothing else. Read the Forum for more details.

    @Laddeus:
    From Finland here... an enemy...

In my opinion Lusted's Battle AI is worth trying. The AI isn't as clever as a skillful player - it never will be. But this AI doesn't take (bad) tactical mistakes. I've used it for ~6 months now and I haven't anything to complain about the mod.

+rep Lusted if you use it!
