Mormons, Your Opinion Of Them?

I personally think they're god-awful annoying. I had a pair of them walk up to my door, which has a crucifix on it (thanks to my mother mostly), and actually preached themselves at me regardless. I didn't say anything and just gave them hand motions to stop and pointed at the cross, they just looked at me.

After they started their "You should learn about Christ Jesus!" I then said "I'm Catholic you morons!".

They actually had the guts to say "Um it's Mormons."

I think that Mormons should not be overly-generalized. I do, however, think the organized church in Utah is pretty sketchy. I have heard of some creepy cover-ups by the church.

Since their holy books besides the Bible are the historical equivalent of a fairy tale (i.e., all the "history" in them has never been proved to have occurred--in fact, archaeology does quite the opposite) and therefore provides no rational basis for belief, I'd say theologically they're better off not being Mormon.

Their religion is awfully weird, and ive never really met a Mormon- but I've met many Jehovah witnesses [my sister is a convert!] and considering that sect is considered to be just about as radical and odd, I doubt id have much issue with them. "Radical" or weird Christian sects are almost always over hyped.

Mormons like to wear formal attire, and that is fine by me. More men need to wear disciplined suits and shirts, not this t-shirts and jeans garbage. At least they have their priorities right, society-wise.

As for the Mormon faith... it is quite odd, indeed. They seem to think that God was just a man from another planet who became a God, and that we can all become gods. They also believe that the only way to become a god is to please the celestial council of gods, all of whom seem to have come from nowhere. Of course, who am I to ask for reason and logic from another religion? I believe that someone was nailed to a huge cross, died while making eloquent one-liners, and came back from the dead after saving Adam and Eve from eternal Hell in burning caskets. Live and let live, but don't let them push you around with their feet in the door.

I think they are very sincere but very misguided, so I don't really oppose the idea of them going around door to door, but I don't agree with their message at all, of course. But in their minds, they are trying to save you from Hell, so you gotta give them kudos for trying.

It's a shame that when looking at another rediculous sect, religious people don't seem to get any wiser about their own.

It's surprising that a catholic is that bothered by mormons seeming nutty... but then I suppose that is the beauty of 'faith', that no matter what, they refuse to look and judge and instead judge and look.

As for my opinion of them, I don't make opinions about groups like that - I find it ignorant.

Their teachings are laughable... but this doesn't make them stand out much...

I generally find any human being in a suit laughable actually. Seriously the person who invented the suit and tie should rot in hell along with his followers. I think I need to establish an anti suit religion. I refuse to do business or associate with anyone who wears a suit to my office. I have a pair of scissors just in case a man doesnt read my sign. And mormons.. Never met one, but Colbert Report had two Mormon guys making out so I guess they're pretty liberal.

... who me? Seriously I'm not, we're talking about religions when I mean that the laughable aspect is fairly common. I'm not talking about theists, or any group of people. I'm also not saying that the teachings are illogical, just laughable. I don't mean that they will definately get a laugh, but that it's more than likely... I suppose that hangs on sense of humor... but then I found the penis magic joke funny and I doubt you did from the looks of things... it's still funny, I'm sorry...

I don't agree with their beliefs, and they are a far cry from traditional Christianity. I regard them as a cult, but I believe that they do have good intentions, at least. They're generally nice folks though, and my elderly neighbor next door is even a Mormon.

To be perfectly honest, isn't Christianity a cult? We are a cult for Jesus and the other members of the Trinity. Islam is a cult for Mohammad and for Allah. Judaism is a cult for the words of Abraham, Moses, and God. To say that you consider Mormonism a cult, in that way, is to say that Christianity isn't a cult when it obviously is. Hell, Christ encouraged us to let others murder us when it was over matters of faith. This is a cult, and I don't think there is anything wrong with cults.
