Default Still looking forward to get that flu shot?

I think I will pass. Better to get sick and possibly die from an illness I can mentally wrap my hands around than to suffer from this.

And what is the deal about mercury being in some flu shots?

Already a thread about this in the Thema Devia, but seriously, taking a 1/1,000,000 chance of disease X as a reason not to take a preemptive and precautionary move? Sounds a bit radical to me.

Good to know that there are still people out there who are willing to needlessly discredit and undermine every government initiative for their own personal pleasure and political goals.

Wonder why huh? Where have you been the last 16 years? Government is so screwed up and not to be trusted. There is good reason for everything rejecting what the government is trying to shove down our throats.

Are you serious? That's dumb, dumber, dumbest.

The traces of mercury are just that: Traces. And it has been used for millions of vaccinations already, it's not new to for the swine flu vaccine.

As for any possible or alledged complications: Always think of how big the chance would be for the same complication without vaccination. If you look at a population of several millions, there are going to die a few of unexplainable causes all the time. Simple as that. Just that they maybe had a vaccination before does not prove anything. The only thing that would indicate that the vaccinations have serious, common complications/unexpected deaths is when the number of those sharply rises for those vaccinated against those who did not vaccinate. No such thing has happened.

Further: Don't think of yourself. Think of others. I have two children. One is too small to get the vaccine, and also stands the highest risk of complications if it gets the swine flu. If everyone would get vaccinated, the chances of my child getting the flu would be MUCH lower.

So, to everyone who gets vaccinated:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. On behalf of my children.
"The cheapest form of pride however is national pride. For it reveals in the one thus afflicted the lack of individual qualities of which he could be proud, while he would not otherwise reach for what he shares with so many millions. He who possesses significant personal merits will rather recognise the defects of his own nation, as he has them constantly before his eyes, most clearly. But that poor blighter who has nothing in the world of which he can be proud, latches onto the last means of being proud, the nation to which he belongs to. Thus he recovers and is now in gratitude ready to defend with hands and feet all errors and follies which are its own."-- Arthur Schopenhauer

Well said. It's shocking how little thought VC has put into his opinion.

If someone already has pathologies by his own, classified as "at risk", they have to take the vaccine immediately. Here in Italy, on 37 A/H1n1 victims, 35 has died for complicances (most of cases turned in bacterial pneumonias) caused by the virus on their previous pathologies.

    Yeha, public health measures. Grrr.
It's like that time my grandma told me about, when they came and took away the communal water supply in the street and replaced it with plumbing. Didn't the government know about the community spirit? Didn't they think how it was a real family event to get cholera together? Bastards

Right, and added fluoride to the water supply too.

I encourage everyone that doesn't want to take a vaccine to continue avoiding it.

    Good luck ;D

I already got a very mild case of swine flu and was over it in about 5 days, so there is no reason why I'd get this now. I'd rather get the flu than take whatever they put in this.

I was made to take the vaccine.

I am not autistic, not dying, and not enslaved to the government.

There is more evidence that ties early infancy immunizations to autism than flu shots to even minor health defects.

I'm getting my flu shot in a week.

I missed the first round for health care professionals so I get the second round.

    I like fluoride too......

I....do not know if I will

Like I am at a weird kind of crossroads

I would not like to die, but I do not really like the idea of the human race surviving only untill the next outbreak.

bah, I will avoid the getting the shot until I am working in a position where I have alot of daily contact with other people. But yea, there is alot of out there that doctors do not know about. 2 years ago I thought it really sucked when I got Salmonella poisoning.....come to find out recently that I contracted ulcerative colitis from the salmonella. So now I have a life long disease from another illness (hurray!). So yea, you can get all kinds of in weird ways you never imagined.
