I have successfully spawned my character, Joan d'Arc, using a custom portrait. If I try to spawn her w/ a dead partner, so she can't be married, the custom portrait disappears. I have tried using the off_map command in the descr_strat.txt. It works as she is spawned with a dead partner, so she can't remarry, but the custom portrait is no longer there. Below are some of the trial and errors I have done.

Original spawn script from the campaign_script.txt

Some of the trial and errors -

A.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Code:
From descr_strat.txt
character_record Jean, male, age 16, off_map

character_record Marie, female, age 17, dead 1, never_a_leader

relative	Jean, Marie,	end

The above were placed in the correct area,
off_map section is before characters listed - like in british isles descr_strat.txt,
character_record Marie is below the other character-records,
and relative line is below the family tree.

Made this change to the original script above, from campaign_script.txt

			character	Jean, named character, x 50, y 60, portrait joanofarc, direction S

Removed the age as it was done in the british isles campaign_script.txt.

B.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Code:
This time I removed the portrait tag from the script and placed it in the descr_strat

From descr_strat.txt
character_record Jean, male, age 16, off_map, portrait joanofarc

character_record Marie, female, age 17, dead 1, never_a_leader

relative	Jean, Marie,	end

Made this change to the original script above

			character	Jean, named character, x 50, y 60

Removed the age as it was done in the british isles campaign, the portrait text, and direction.

In both cases of A. and B. the script works as Jean is spawned w/ a dead partner, but the portrait is no longer there. In data\ui\custom_portraits\joanofarc there are three tgas; portrait_old, portrait_young, and portrait_dead.

If I don't use the descr_strat.txt file for the family issue, can I use the campaign_script to spawn a partner for Jean which is dead? I haven't seen any reference to spawning families w/ the campaign_script.txt.

I don't want her to be appart of the family tree, IE-possibilty of becoming heir or FL. With what I've done above she is spawned as a general w/ a dead partner, so she can't be married into a family tree.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated,
