Installation Questions
I apologize for some very basic questions. I have tried to read as much as I could but some of this stuff is just too incomprehensible for my mind. I just downloaded Rome: Total war from Gamestop online. It is the Gold edition, and it came with the Barbarian Invasion Expansion Pack. I am unsure what this means regarding what version of RTW I have. I am interested in checking out Rome: Total Realism.
1. What version should I download for the most inclusive reworking of the game? The idea of a realistic ancient strategy game is very cool. But I want to make sure that it is a full game and not just a series of missions.
2. What effect will this have on my current RTW files and game? Will i still be able to play regular RTW?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am excited to give the game a shot!

Re: Installation Questions
To find out what version of RTW you have start the game, go to the Options menu and check the upper right corner of the screen. It should say ver1.5 for RTW and ver1.6 for BI. Those are the final versions and if your game is RTW Gold it should be fully patched by default. But it doesn`t hurt to check.
1. If you indeed have RTW v1.5 you`ll have to go with RTRPE. RTRPE is a port of RTR 6 Gold(which worked with the older RTW v1.2) to the engine of RTW v1.5. It`s a full campaign, not a series of missions.
2. If you want to avoid more than one RTW install than make sure you install the mod switch version of RTRPE from above, and not the other one posted by Marcus Camillus. The mod switch version installs in its own sub-folder and will not overwrite the game`s files. So you`ll be able to play it and vanilla rtw/bi from the same game folder. As well as any other mod provided that it too is completely mod foldered(make sure you ask before installing any new one).
