    Default future totalwar realism VII

i played nine hours with fate of empires and my impression is that this mod is excellent, historical documentation, historical units with higth quality models, historical scripts etc.

two things that is possible to be improved, more governor and military titles for the generals and that the family in the power are in the familiar tree and not all generals family tree,in the mod invasio barbarorum apostatae juliani this two aspects is good,my question is,if this aspects would be improved in a patch?.

and another question,It is going to continue working in the fate of empires or other in other mod campaign?
i like that continued being worked in the fate of empires with new historical units, new historical events and scripts, more role for personal details etc,but clear alone it is a suggestion.

    I'm glad you like it

Until Xmas we will continue working on FoE and when it's Xmas we will release an expansion. Some things we wanted to implement in FoE simply couldn't make it in time to delay the release, so we will do that now via an expansion. Also, the expansion can be used to fix things based on the comments from the forum. So all suggestions to what could be done in FoE are welcome... (but don't expect to see all of them implemented, we only have about 8 weeks )

We haven't fully decided yet on what to do after FoE, but we have our ideas

Sorry no Cataphracts, is too much east for the new map.
    Maybe next time

    Are you suuuuure?
'Cause if you like, do Greece to allow us to play out Rome's Macedonian campaign (that is why you introduced Macedon, yeah? ) then it is perfectly feasible for you to create a Seleucid faction in much the same way as you have done the Macedonians here - and that potentially means we get to play out the battle of Magnesia, and I get my cataphracts!!!

Or am I going to have to cry?

You better cry for adding Seleucid faction, most of mini-region most go way.Remember there as limit of 200. But can appear some surprises in the GC.

    Most probably, no.
Creating a mini-campaign means also creating a map. ATM a new map is made over extisting one by extending it, while creating a map for the Eastern campaign means creating a whole new map. The team just do not have enough resources to do that. But AFTER GC it will be probably possible.

Well I think we will all find it difficult to the less detailed maps after FoE. So IMHO having a GC on multiple maps is certainly an option. However,as Ort said, moving the whole map expanse would mean starting a mod from scratch, which in terms of mod-creation is not a smart thing to do.

Who said something about decreasing detail when going to work on a GC?

When you use Med II or even Empire, won't that give enough slots to get a GC with FOE detail?

Regarding the size of the map (in land-tiles) M2 will be exactly the same. However for the number of regions we likely have a little trick to fix this...

If we would go to ETW, then the limits won't be a problem at all. However ETW isn't really as moddable as would be needed for a drastic conversion like this

I wouldn't go so far as to say ETW isn't as moddable. It's just very different, so there would be a very steep learning curve if we were to use it. That would push back any future release by months, if not years.

I presume someone will eventually put out a mod that does naval warfare from the classical time period (using the ETW engine).

I'd be very happy to play that!

Given how long it takes to design, build, test and release a RTR mod I doubt if a few extra months would be noticed - maybe even a year.....

    So do I!

But I don't think that we as RTR should do such a thing at the moment.

I hope there is a Grand Campaign all on one map, because how am I going to recreate the early Roman Empire when I can't even see half of it? I wouldn't mind less detail, in fact I find FOE almost has too much detail.

    Heresy!

Myself, I'd find it difficult to go back to fighting over a postage stamp size Sicily, and as a predominantly Roman player, it wouldn't worry me too much if the map stopped just east of Jerusalem - but I appreciate that I'm in the minority there, and it ain't gonna happen.
