    Default CTD in battles

Hi i have had a look on the forum already but theres nothing specific to my problem, i play a battle and it always crashes within about 3 minutes of me starting, the sound goes a bit glitchy and then it CTDs, with no error message even tho i have show-err, its just says rome has stopped working. i was wondering if i should revert back to the old music?? if so how?? never had problems with 1.5c but 1.6 just keeps crashing.
    thanks

also i forgot to mention that i am using the RTW thats on sega and already patched to 1.5, dont know if that helps, its the one sold in the white label case, and im on vista aswell. im not the most computer ieterate person as u can probably tell so all help is needed

(EDIT) only just read ur edit bit at the end sorry.

afraid i dont know my specs sorry but its not a bad pc per say, my brother built it and it handles empire on full settings with 400 men units, not sure if that helps but it always handles high powerd games, play on high settings with huge units, no lag or anything just the sound is glitchy. im reinstalling now in a folder outside the programe files, i tried changing autosave to false before but it didnt work. could it be the sound??

The first thing to do is to reduce your graphic levels to see if that is what is causing the CTD (as they are known to be the killer of RTW mods).

If the game still crashes as a test reduce all graphic levels to the minimum and then see if the game still crashes. If it does then it's something else.

Please post your system specifications and graphic options.

Edited: If you post back with no replies to your previous post please use the EDIT button to update your previous post (as I have done) rather than add another one.

You can find your system specifications by running dxdiag (from the run dialog box) and then attach the details. Does your system have a sound card?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

RTW is an older game and won't use multiple cores so the machine you are using won't be as good running RTW as it does ETW.
