wow, this was a really active comp, okay here's how i think

sub 1 - i really like this one, its superbly done, and i think that the glowing mouth is nice

sub 2 - this one seems rather basic, it looks mostly like a nicely done c&p job

sub 3 - this one is well done, with clear thought being put into the colours, and the blur behind the main elf is nicely done

sub 4 - this one is excelent, i love the way it draws the eye in a nice smooth curve

sub 5 - this one is technically really good, with the focus of the sig being nice, and slowly bluring away.

sub 6 - looks really good, though i would prefer it in colour, however the background seems to the the same one thats been used in several competitions, and as such it show a lack of imagination to me. Though Gandalf is superbly merged into the background

sub 7 - this one is very simple, and certainly not as well done as some of them, however i really like the character of it

sub 8 - again appears rather simple, it is nicely done, but seems mostly to be a c&p job

sub 10 - knowing who made this one, i can say it is their best so far, some clear effort into image manipluation has been made, but needs some more practice, though great thought has been made into the whole of the image

sub 11 - initally i was offput by this one, but the more i look at it the more genius it looks. Would like to have seen the base image to know how much work has been done, however still really good

sub 12 - this one seems poorly done to me, the blur between the bright left side, and the more subtle right side isn't great. aragon also looks rather flat on the picture, though i do like the writing at the top

sub 13 - this is probably my favorite one, it is fantastic. I love the cartoon of frodo, sam and smeagal, and it fits perfectly with the background of the map, including the shade. It also works really well with the mountain and the clouds on the right side. The border also works really well

sub 14 - again a really well done sub, the back is nicely made, and the eye fits in nicely

sub 15 - this is another well done submission. the colour all complements itself nicely and the helm fits nicely

sub 16 - not sure about this one, i'm assuming it is from a LoTR mod. the replaced background and the boarder are thought out and fits the sub, but it still seems rather basic


okay thats my thoughts, sorry if i've offended anyone, i didn't mean to, this is meant as constructive critism.

So going with sub 13

Submission 1: 8.5/10; this is a good submission, but it lacks depth. Something needed to be added to add more to the picture on the sides.
Submission 2: 8/10, The border and left side are good. It would have been better to have orcs on the right side over Golem and the strangely placed Frodo head. (Creeeepppyyy.)
Submission 3: 10/10, Nothing left out, well made. Though, it doesn't have a "Wow, that's freaking amazing" factor. Just an overall well made signature.
Submission 4: 8.5/10 The effects around the ring look awesome, but the border isn't that good and the background could be better.
Submission 5: 9.5/10 This is a really nice submission. Something is missing on the right side though, maybe adding some effect that makes your eye instantly look to Frodo and the light.
Submission 6: 9.5/10 A solid submission. The text could be larger and easier to see. I prefer signatures with color, but this one does good without it. Not good enough to be a 10, but just under it.
Submission 7: 6/10 The idea is good, but everything seems just copy+pasted on with little purpose.
Submission 8: 8.5/10 Its well made, would look better with a border, but its missing something important to draw it out from the others.
Submission 9: 6/10 Pretty much the same as submission 7
Submission 10: 7/10 Same as 9 and 7, except to a small degree better. It still looks copy and pasted, but the background is good, and the text looks wonderful.
Submission 11: 10/10 Definitely one of the top two. It really brings out the greatness of the piece of art. Nothing to critisize on this submission really.
Submission 12: 10/10 Beautiful, perfect, period.
Submission 13: 9.5/10 Though it is simple, something about it appeals to me. It was a great idea and put together quite well.
Submission 14: 9/10 Pretty good. I don't like how the eye is cut off, making the left side look bad to me. But the right side looks great.
Submission 15: 9/10 Well made, but basic. Nothing special, but its still good.
Submission 16: 7.5/10 Border and background suck, I like the fire effect.

In the end I vote 12, with 11 just behind it in second place.

Just a notice for those saying that I use the same background in every sig: That's just not true, I create a new background for every sig, every background is unique. I only use a "splatter" picture everytime, so that might be the reason.

voted 5 it's astounding I love the focus and the blur on the rider and the whole painting like feeling. But there where many great subs again! It keeps getting better and better
