I doubt I will be the last refugee from ETW that comes back to RTW. It's been a couple of months since I returned to RTW and began playing the mods. With the triumphant arrival of FOE I shall certainly be playing for some time yet. Despite having played RTW on and off for 5 years I frequently learn something new.
Here are two of the more recent tips that I find useful.
1) Building a stack on the campaign map.
This is a tip I wished I had found out years ago. I am not really one for fancy formations. One solid line of infantry in front of a line of missiles will do me. Some cavalry on the flanks and I am good to go. I usually create group 1 out of my infantry, group 2 out of my missiles and groups 3 and 4 out of cavalry.
I recently decided I liked a unit of Triarii on each flank and one at the centre of my line of infantry. The rest of the line is made up of Principes. When building the stack on the campaign map I begin with my General then add one Triarii, then four Principes, then one Triarii, then four Principes, then the last Triarii. I then add my missiles and my cavalry last.
Now when I get to the battlefield I press CTRL I to select all infantry, G to group them and SHIFT 1 to form a single line. This line always looks like this and is easy to move around, and drag it to the depth I like.

I am sure loads of people know this already, but you can't believe how much time I spent rearranging my lines in battle without realising that if I had put them in the stack in the correct order there would be no problem.
2) Removing the text boxes.
I read this on the forums recently and nearly cried for joy.
In battle pressing CTRL F2 toggles the information boxes on and off.
There are times when I want the info, but usually I want eye candy and those boxes get right in the way.
I am sure you guys have many things you do to simplify or enhance your gameplay. I would love to find out some more.
