A better alternative to David Cameron's disastrous, dangerous and delusional policy ideas.
I have the sneaky suspicion that you don't trust the Tories period. How do I know this? If you really understood modern politics and knew what each party was saying then you would know the biggest criticism levelled against Cameron and the conservative party has been their LACK OF POLICY ideas. In fact one of the few polices they had (a referendum on Lisbon) has recently be retracted (due to circumstances beyond their control) and just out of interest what is so 'disastrous, dangerous and delusional' about having a debate and then have a national vote on a subject that effects us in so many areas of government?
I also don't see what's so 'new' about new labour, guys like Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have been in parliament since for nearly as long as I've been alive by they time Labour finally got into office in 1997 Tony Blair has been sitting in opposition bench for nearly 15 years wearing out the leather on side of the house - that's a generation! For me a policy shift from the far left to a more centre position doesn't qualify them as new, Labour has always been and still is today a socialist party at heart, they sold their soul just to get power.
I've also never known a political party that is so petty, spiteful and corrupted by jealousy, the fiasco over the fox hunting ban for me showed 'new labour' in it's true light. The whole fox hunting issue has nothing to do with animal welfare but was used as way for vindictive left wing politicians to strike at the rich and ruling classes.
I don't care if the war in Iraq was legal or illegal, Saddam was a piece of trash and got his comeuppance and I'm glad Britain played a large part in his removal all the while our yellow livered European pals sat there with their thumbs up their backsides. I was a fan of the minimum wage at first but over the last couple of years I feel it should be removed as it's beaning used a tool by employers to suppress wages, I feel if it wasn't in place a lot of people could be earning a more money.
Economic management, on the whole pretty good, Labour have been in power for 12 years now and the country had been ticking along nicely since 1994 until about early 2008 when it went pear shaped. The law of averages and history says that we were bound to go into recession at some point (we should have had one when the .com bubbled burst but aggressive interest rate cuts prevented that happing) and I won't judge a government on why we are in recession but how they mange the aftermath. Browns biggest black spot on his financial management is his involvement in the currant pension shortfalls, raids into pension pots to pay for government spending plans are unforgivable.
If Labour got kicked out office next week I would give them 6/10, largely based for the years of economic prosperity.

The Sun really enjoys been outraged on other peoples behalves, I believe a lot of people were expecting Mr Murdoch to be handing out The Sun behind the Wotton Basset hearses, just like the cartoonist at the Independent did.
Or there are still some in the Labour Party who would like to see social imbalance eradicated and not exacerbated, as has been the case under the current policy programme and as I'm sure will be made incredibly worse by the upcoming Tory Government - as George Osborne said, his local private school is "incredibly liberal...your mother could be head of a giant corporation or a solicitor in Kew", he is oh so very in touch with the middle classes isn't he...Christ lets be honest aside from the obvious things like the 50p tax rise which was a headline grabber to try to woo the socialist minded people who don't look to broadly to see it as a headline grabber there are large elements within the labour party who are still pursuing a class war.
The fact is both Nu Labour and Blue Labour are as bad as each other........

British politics is in a terrible, terrible position these days. None of our parties are worth considering really.
You can't really blame New Labour for global events to be fair though, and it's not like any other party could or would have done anything better to deal with it.
Most criticisms of New Labour come from people who do not and probably cannot offer any real solutions... and this is coming from a Conservative voter. I do want to Tories to win the next election as I am deeply pissed off with New Labour, but for the sake of politics I don't want them to have an easy victory.

I want the torys to win but if thease events carry on the bnp will get in. god forbid
It always seems like people rate the BNPs chances as being higher than the Liberal Democrats.
As a Scotsman the last thing I want to see is a hung Parliament. It'll only make the SNP more arrogant, they already think they've been sent by God to save Scotland! (exaggeration, incase it wasn't apparent, but they are pretty arrogant). Their hopes for the next general election is to try getting enough SNP MPs into a hung Parliament so they have a stronger negociating position.
Please, no hung Parliaments.
If the Tories do as well in the election as they're doing in the polls then it should be a landslide for them.
It's really not that simple. I can tell you now it's not going to be a landslide, even to get a majority the Tories will require the largest uniform swing in modern history!!!!! People haven't been turning to the Tories, they've been turning away from Labour.
The "Others" are currently running about 15-17% in the polls, and could well gain more closer to the GE. The problem is that most will not be putting up candidates in anywhere near every seat and so this vote come the GE could drop simply because sympathisers cannot vote for their preferred party. Labour tend to benefit the most from this and so the result will probably be closer than you'd think.
The advent of significantly polling "Other" parties who cannot afford to put candidates in every seat has rendered polls rather useless tbh.
