Default Getting bored, need a new faction

I'm playing as the Byzanties right now and I'm getting bored at turn 150. So I want to start a new game in the late eara (I always play early). So which faction you guys suggest me to take. I want a fun faction which is not to easy and have a nice unit roster.

So suggestions are welcome, thanks alot

France they have the best unit roster, scots guard (one of the strongest archers, available from armourer wich means you can recruit them in cities to with free upkeep) lancers, chiv knights, dism noble knights, aventuors, french dism archers, french horse archers, pikemen, voulge milita, spearmen and good artillery units. And they have a fun starting position as you can conquer all of England and get insanely rich.

I really agree with Souka! But you forgot the Aventuriers!

the frenchies is my favorite faction...every unit in their roster makes up for the weakness in the other unit..
    with a BANG

you would quite see that they are the BEST faction!

I'm having a blast in my TO campaign. I captured all of Scandinavia and I'm wondering how I should invade Great Britain.

Who cares about Poland, Lithuania and Novgorod!

Depends on your playstyle. I'm a fan of gunpowder, artillery and colonial units and militias, (1450 campaign mainly)

As someone said earlier, France is a fantastic country to play as, especially on H/VH on the RR/RC compilation. You generally have to fight the Genoese/Pisans, the Catalans and the Germans while locked in near constant warfare with the English. In my latest French campaign, it's 1601 and I've captured everyting up to Nuremburg and forced the Germans to serve the French throne. The Catalans control all of southern France now, and since i've captured Genoa and Milan, the Genoese faction now represents the Corsicans (my vassals) who I periodically fund to raid the Muslims.

My favorite factions are Novgorod, Denmark and France for their amazing rosters and great locations with interesting neighboring countries. I've never much enjoyed the Teutonic Order as they lack good late technology and are historically pretty much douchebags.

I've always loved the Turks in the late era. With the Janissary troops and great cavalry (Qapakulu and the new Turkish Ghulam Cavalry, both armour piercing) you've got an excellent roster - infanty, archers and cavalry alike. Difficulty wise, it's pretty average I think. Like all other factions it really depends on your luck + diplomacy I guess. For example, I made an alliance with the Khwarezms somehow and yet never made one with the Fatamids which meant I only had the western side of my empire to worry about.

I'm playing Late Era HRE on 6.1, am 30 turns in and loving it. The best thing about HRE is their entire starting border is Castles, allowing you to turtle and develop your economy before creating hell for Genoa, Venice & France. As well as that, HRE has a very strong High & Late roster with many plate-armoured units.

Other fun factions to play are Venice, Novgorod or Lithuania.

Scotland. Immediatly attack the English and Irish, gaining control of Britannia sometimes can be pretty difficult if England isn't distracted. If you hold all of Brittain and Ireland, probally the Pope will call a Crusade on you (which is a lot of fun) If he doesn't, just attack all catholics around you. They will probally take revenge which has the same effect as a crusade.

Byzantines with Basileia ton Romaion submod VH/VH in Late Era...
    Let me know your progress...
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

Basileia ton Romaion submod is the one that is included in RR/RC? And I just played the Byzantines in early and now I want something else, although they are cool. (when do flamethrowers actually come avaible?)

Isn't France to easy? I really don't like France people so I think I do not like to play with them

So my choice will be the TO (which I played before, without succes ), Novgorod, HRE, Lithuania or Portugal. Is Portugal really hard in the late eara?

Portugal is a nice, hard faction to play.
I find Ireland also very fun

Ugh. Not in early era, unless fun is watching your spy stare at your diplomat for 20 turns before you can get either of them off the island...

Spanish and italien factions are very fun late era. They all have cool late era roosters and interesting starting positions with the italiens massed up together with rich cities and the possibility to play wihout castels. The spanish factions are fun with the fight against the moors and the powerhouse France.

Aragon, definatley. Having the island of palma to be a backup just in case you get kicked out of spain
With lots of cavalry, and heavily armed and armoured infantry, you can kick arse in the game. Also the Basque Archers, god those guys are the best archers. Being pretty tough in melle, and having a longbow for extreme range and firepower. The Montesa knights are also good.So are the Santiago knights. The armats, as you will come to see, are extremeley hard to kill, making Aragon a great faction. You have opportunities to go to italy, and fight the genoese, and if you build a strong navy you could go all the way to Athens! And if you dont choose Aragon, the go for the Teutonic Order. But after playing DLV (TO has a larger rooster in DLV) I feel that the TO could have a few more units(dism.Gothic knights, Gothic knights, mounted and dism. Imperial knights, etc...)
