Re: Domus Felix
Barba walked to the house of Felix. He knocked at the door and waited for someone to let him in...

Re: Domus Felix
A man opens the door. He bows his head and leads the Consul into the home.
"Consul Barba. This is a surprise. Especially considering I have not yet been to the Curia. What brings you here?"
Felix signals a servant to bring him and the Consul some wine.

"Well, I believe it's my duty as a senior member to get to know newer members a little better. So, here I am."
He took a sip of the wine a slave served for him.
"Hmm, splendid taste. Are they from your own vineyard?"

"Well it is always an honor for any member of the Senate to come by."
Felix rolled a coin between his fingers
"Indeed. The Vineyard is not large, but the smaller it is, the better the taste."

Re: Domus Felix
"That must be true, I know men with huge vineyards who produce the most horrid beverage, not worthy of being called wine. It's the extra care, I assume...but tell me, Felix, what are your plans for the future? I assume you wish to rise up the ladder of the Cursus Honorum?"

Re: Domus Felix
"Indeed."
Felix rubbed his hand their the air. The wind was barely blowing and it was hot.
"I do intend to climb up the Political latter. If I do or not remains to be seen. But I do plan on making an entry in the next election."

Re: Domus Felix
"Well, the office of Censor is only available for Consulares, that is, former Consuls. There is a reason why it is a ladder," he said while smiling to the young man, "On the bottom, younger Senators begin their careers as Quaestors or Tribunes, for the Plebs. Some more experienced men go for the office of Praetor, becoming judges and legal authorities in the city. Above them, the Consuls govern the Curia and lead our legions to war. And, above all, the Censor, one of the most senior members, directs debates and shares his wisdom with the youth. A very well defined structure, if I may say. The office was closed, though, due to external issues, but rest assured that soon it will be open again."
he paused, and took a sip of the wine.
"If I were you I would go for the Quaestorship, that is if you trust your skills with money are good enough."

Re: Domus Felix
"Being Quaestor would be a very complicated position. I can hardly keep up with my own money much less the entire Republics."
OOC: I dont have the mod installed. So being ina position that requires the game is out

Re: Domus Felix
"I suppose the Cursus will have to wait for you then. You're still a very young man, not much older than I when I first joined the House. I remember on my first year as Quaestor I messed up the entire plan, half of the House was jumping on me for my mistake, the Consul was furious!" said Barba, chuckling.
"So, what is your money invested on now? Own any properties other than the place where they make this godly drink?" he said, pointing at his goblet, to then drink the remaining liquid.

Felix laughs
"I could only imagine the look on their faces."
Felix looked over in Vineyard
"I do indeed. I own a property or two in the North. I also have a few Slave Traders working for me in Numidia. Brings in a steady income. But sometimes I wonder at what cost."

Re: Domus Felix
"It is because we brought what some may call "important letters" to the Senate. They turned out to be right. Unless a Public option to banish him again is made, I can do nothing, or I myself will face charges. But you speak for the people do you not, you could be the one to present that public option."
Felix smiled

Re: Domus Felix
Then i can bring a case against him? I know i will have support.
But really Preator, he should never have had a chance to show them. The law is not written that 'you are banished unless you return and go straight into the curia and begin arguing with the senate'

"I know I know. But I was not Praetor at the time. So I could nothing about it. But you will have my support if you do bring charges against him."
