How to get the advanced armoured general's bodyguard?

The one with the full plate/gothic armour. I can't seem to recruit these recruit able generals.

You won't be seeing those until some time in the 1300 's, when the full plate event fires.

yes i think so.. there are event triggers and prerequisites. and a general at your pool which can be recruited 1 in 20 turns

The weird thing is I'm Scotland and Angers is the only one able to produce the Gothic generals even though it has the same buildings as those of my other citadels. Any idea why it is like this?

Playing as Scotland, I have the ability to recruit and upgrade my generals at Nottingham, Caen and Bern, but this was after the plate trigger in the late 1300s.
