What the heck happened to the AI? 6.1 battle AI was done fairly well, minus a few bugs. Now I am fighting armies that as soon as I go to engage suddenly pull back 50-100 feet, disorganize the entire line (on both sides) then turn around and charge again. There is no strategy here, its all chaos and slaughter. I am very unhappy with the new battle AI.
This is a sad turn of events because for the first time I was actually challenged in the new campaign AI. I was only into turn 50 as Kwarezmian when suddenly I was attacked by like 20 stacks of Fatimids. I almost quit the game when I saw that, outraged that they could produce so many stacks in so little time with so little money, but then I decided to give it a try and what an epic struggle. Too bad it was severely marred by this new battle AI. I mean seriously, did armies fight like this in real life? Did Generals tell their soldiers "hey boys as soon as the lines clash, turn around and run" and with the synchronization of a flock of geese no less. Meh. Sorry for the rant, I have not posted in a long time here but I felt moved enough to do so because of this. Anyone else experience this?
