Help i cant start campaign

I installed the mod today(3.0) and i typed "D" so i could play it from the beginning, but i try grand campaign and it always goes to the gunpowder age and my empire is always made.. so i tried to go to custom campaign and when i click start campaign after a have selected my faction it goes back to the previous page where i select with campaign(dark, early, high, etc.) Please help everyone says this mod is great but i cant get it to work. P.S. i am using vista on a high end gaming dell computer.

Did you also install the 3.3 patch and hotfix 2.

Also make sure the campaign you select in the launcher prompt is the same as the one you select in game.
If you typed "D" then you need to select the darkage campaign from the custom campaign screen.
"H" then High era campaign and so forth.

I have a strange problem. I have installed 3.0, 3.3 and the 3.3 patch. I choose L so I can play the grand campaign in the black screen. Then, some text scrolls down very fast and then nothing happens. The game do not start. I do have another mod installed in the C directory and this is installed in the D directory. What might be the problem? Any aid would be great. I have attached a print screen too.

Hm, i'll add now one new point to the FAQ: "The game will need some time before it has created the map for the chosen campaign. This is dependent on your computer performance."

Thanks very much for your quick reply Sorry to repeat a much asked question.
But, I have now waited for 5 minutes and there is no indication that a launch is going on. My computer is a dual core, 2Gb memory PC, and are quick in general. I had trouble with a Trojan horse message in connection with starting the game via the 3.3 icon. I installed the fix to avoid this but it did not help. Though I used the exe icon in the folder for the gaming files, see attachment. Do not get any virus message then, but the game do not start still...
Wonder what is wrong.

I can mention that my AVG actually confirmed erasing 2 Trojan horses (scanned the whole machine today) that correlated with the message I got from AVG when launching the game from the 3.3 icon. That should not interfere with starting the game I suppose. I have deinstalled and installed 3.0, 3.3 and Hotfix three times already. Really do not know what to do.

i still have a feeling that the virus scanner might have quarrantained a mod file automatically..could that be? can you install and run the game with a deactivated virus scanner as a test?

This happened to me as a Vista user because of my anti-spyware (SpywareBlaster & Spyware Terminator). When they were "on", the game wouldn't start. When I turned them "off", the desktop shortcut successfully launched. I leave my anti-virus (free AVG 8.0) "on" while playing and it does not affect gameplay.

well if you have avg and can play with it and he also has avg i guess avg has an alibi
