merchant guild or Explorers guild? which do you prefer..

whats the most profitable city you think you have? or think you will be.

so far i can think of Constantinople as hungary (i have reached 12-14k i think). Venice maybe i haven't tried but it has unique building, Jerusalem? Antioch but not as much as Constantinople i think i reached 8k with Templar. Marseilles? good access to mid. sea..

what you guys think? i cant try all faction but in your experience which city is worth conquering and is a cash cow for you?

yes i will add damascus, and probably bagdahd. And maybe anthioc. I have find marseilhe having a good income when it grows aswell. all of italian cities when grow give you a very good income. Venice and Genoa speacialy. also milan. Also i have found capturing cairo also gives a good income.

Alexandria gives better trade, due to having Sea Routes, I've found, when they have the Right Governers. That rapidly becomes a greater power center for me than Cairo.

Depends on the governor too. The titles for Constantinople, Genoa, London, Venice, Vienna, and Bruges (just to name a few) give huge bonuses to trade on top of being rich themselves. Personally, I think Constantinople is the richest, not only due to trade, but also because the Byzantines can build health buildings no other faction can, which results in a high tax income.

Got 12K with Arhus once, but that was due to the others nearby all being turned into Towns with Merchants Guilds and Moving the Capital to Mecca, with about 30 Merchants with at least 5 Influence nearby.

Constantinople, the reasons have already been stated and you get 17000 florins alone from sacking it when it's a huge city, you can get 30000 more florins if you dismantle all buildings.

so far at the east itll be constantinople vs jerusalem and at the west will be venice (any italic city can beat this?) corduba or london? due to lots of potentian sea trade routes?

Hamburg and Novgorod also have great income in the north. In south Antioch is also nice.

Alexandria tends to be more richer then Cairo because of it's connection to the Mediterranean. However I must say that Venice IS the richest city in the game and it was in that age too, mostly because of it's excellent position and that the Venetians could do trade with nearly everyone.

Do merchants increase the city's income or just add their own?

idk exactly thats why im also wondering.. if merchant adds additional trade routes or increases the city's income by a certain %.. explorers guild increases trade which isnt available on vanilla..

Cairo, Jerusalem, Constantinople, Italy (all of them, I'm to lazy to think out all the nams), Cordoba, Alexandria. That's pretty much all I can think of now.

Richest overall developed nation would have to be either Egypt or France imho. (Native lands only)

how about england, spanish cities all coast cities with ports give additional trade income and HRE.
