    Default Eastern Factions

    ARMENIA,PARTHIA,PONTUS and Baktria(xenagia units)

    Note:Units by model type now. Too many models if by faction only,have to limit model type per post and faction variations. PNG files is 10 only per post. Have to restructure threads to organise things more smoothly. I have been asked about the new models,but thing is the UNIT data-EDU is changed,and models are renamed,many so will not fit in as is. As taking me way too much time to develop the game,I have to release what I can as I progress(GIMP and graphic problem fixed now-after 1 year wasted work,very stressful. My apologies).

    #Please note,I am working via ALEX exe(as allows greater DMB usage)to test run unit types which others can use,given unit consent from respective authors that is. So I do not joke this is an Aberdeen Proving Grounds..heh. In normal RTW and TE here you have limited room to play around with models due to DMB limit,so this is a test base.

    Some already here in TE.

    Delay in unit consents and with my modelling skill. SPQR says OK to use models if I get consent from artist,but who..as they don't have artist listed with models,oh...

    Ok so can anyone help with corrrect texturing as I don't have 3dsMax to help,or UI skill. If I knew how to skin etc like Ferres or Conq or Divus etc,heck I will be faster.

    My TWC download thingy is slow .

    well gj anyway, i also modded my te; unfortunatly i don't know max so i only can giggle with photoshop and with some textures, and yeas the spqr models are great i use some myself.

    anyway the big problem in te is with the scyths because they don't have an elite unit (except for the general that doesn't count) and those nobles can charge but let's be serious you'll lose them as soon as they stop moving, a actually had to do my campaign with axemen wich is kind of boring; they don't stand a chance against armenia of greeks

    I have consent to use RTR scyths,which are some of the best. I don't have photoshop. My biggest stress is lines on shield nearly always and face at times when using GIMP. Creating a unit is one thing,but to think is it worth UI also,well... I have many models redone,but probs in texture,so not sure what to do?

    I include some pics here,included in zip files above(trying to save file space).

    gimp is ok , it's free , with ps it's no big deal if u already have some base texture u just add some of your ones and with the lines on the shield maybe u could smoothen the texture (i use sharpen on ps coz the resolution of the pics that i use r not so big )

    anyway the units are awesome

    I have Photoshop7 now,not the best,but hey. I am stressed by shield probs in GIMP models. Anyone with a clue how to save without Shields having lines? I am hoping for seemless.

    It is also not just modelling,I am working on unit stats,if you look at ARADAN's EDU tool you will see my headache..^_^.

    ^_^ I have made 2 new buldings and UIs for them in game,BARNS and PRACTICE FIELDS so both Level 2 cav and missiles in use,yiheeeeeeeeee. Slingers and Javelin go there and bows at 3rd-Large Town.

    Ok here: You will see various shields with lines one way or another,mainly at range-it gets worse.

    No good for screenshots. Maybe the way I save the file?

    i see now ... well it's the model, not the textures maybe you should let them with a thoritakai style shield; anyway i presume is the .cas that needs fixing.

    No not cas,I asked Hannibal Smith who uses GIMP to help. The original skin is OK,I use vaniila base for many in case new models are wrong-some are,ie I have a Warspite unit with no legs joining body,sheesh. It is when I edit in GIMP they go funny,I am missing something,lol. I am stuck on modelling until I can fix this grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Unless you want to try aphotoshop test on some?

    Here is javelin,I need Armenia Shield on the Kalis parthia skin. Hopefully no shield lines???

    i inverter the skins so i put kalis on wspite, coz i didn't know how to mod the cas so i use lusted cas for the east javelin (don't know if it's the same but it works)...so here http://www.filefront.com/16110237/WS...rmenia.tga.DDS

    Sorry busy,it is cool,thanks! I use alternate cas-sword/spear and get shield lines on sword model using your texture.

    Not sure how to rid this shieled bug thing???? I don't know 3dsMax or how to use alpha channels to adjust things better.

    1. Problem to solve:Shield lines
    2. Text data,unit stats-missile. How to adjust the light/standard/medium and heavy arrow types for game? Data in EDU-matic by Aradan. range for arrows in TE is 187 max,so have to adjust proportionaly.
    3. For eastern etc,I have help from C-DJ of Classic Age TW,but his unit models have some problems when I alter cas as he listed in DMB.
    4. Russian team Variag shares ideas with ME crew,missing units are found there! Sheesh,so that is where the one of Variag's missing Immortals is,just found today.

    Note,for Easterns I am trying to complete unit data. With Aradan releasing data for unit stats including new ammo types,I have to revamp all the missile units etc in game. He has new light/standard/medium and heavy(armour piercing arrows),also variations in javelins etc,which is a headache to sort out what unit has what? Let alone new armour and melee weapon stats to incorporate. Being Jack Lusted's Mod,such things I need to develop as Lusted is a CA employee now,and this submod is to develop the game as priority rather than as a new Mod to compete with others. Slings are based on historical records and more unique,as they have been not developed enough in my thinking. Easterns have short ranged heavy stones,greeks smaller but longer range as example. Hopefully data I find here can help other Mods,it is my main goal here.

    Oh wow HS helped with shield bug,it is mipmaps it seems,have to convert DDS to TGA to help remedy it(I do not have 3dsMax working to fix via alpha).

    ARADAN converted data I sorted out range wise.

    #Complete 25/4/10 Proportional to 187 TE max&190 range max(Aradan data)
    Light is 1.16rx more range/Medium 1.125x less/Heavy 1.25x less(these variables based on Aradan's arrow damage rating)
    RTW vanilla range is 170 CompB@120 SelfB unit stats. If you look at the Shortbow and Large Comp Bow,the ranges(standard arrow) are close to RTW vanilla.

    GREEN is converted ranges for TE(Light/Standard/Medium/Heavy) arrows. The heavy arrows are AP.
    RED is Aradan's range data which I proportioned to TE's 187 range limit.
    PURPLE is ARADAN's attack data,which I have yet to decide upon.

    With better data I can now use Persians (and Scythians) with unique arrow types.

    Oh bugger I can't edit the data better here(spacing,lol).

    #Tried to redo eastern models to fix texture problems,with HSmith help via DDS converter and the alpha channels are all out of whack,lol and lol. Hmmm,I wanna cry.
