Problem with the TATW battle_moddels
hello
i'm in trouble with this file.
i just make several new factions, i would like to simply copy a part of existing models (like elves of imladris and those of lindon seperate in two but with the same target in the battle_moddels file)
is there a limit to the number of entries ? is it from the first line ?

i already duplicate several units, but the last make a ctd each time.
i think there is no syntax error, here is this entry :

This is probably better for you - it's dedicated regardless.
There is a limit of 500 units, IIRC.
Don't you have to use existing Factions, rather than a new faction? i.e DaC replaces Denmark with Lindon. If you're unsure, you can always comment it out i.e Denmark ;Lindon

i know it is not the best place for my question, but :
i didn't add new unit, so i don't reach the 500 limit.
so is there a limit of entries for battle_moddel.?
and for other people who made additionnal unit for submod, did they have such pbm ?

Technically, you did add a new unit. A unit for the Lindon Elves can't be recruited by the Rivendell Elves, even if they both reference the same point.
That's what allows you to have (for example) in Vanilla M2TW Peasants for allmost all factions - they might all have the same model, but the different texture is because they are assigned a new entry with a different texture in the model db.

oh yes but i did the same, units of high elves (rivendel) and lindon are the same for now. There is nothing more unit in EDU, it is a true mirror for now.
and i already add few entries several minutes before this cracking modif and it worked fine... the limit of 500 unit apply to EDU, but for the limit of battle_moddel..??

Yes, yes, but it counts the units in the model DB.
i.e you have an Egypt Entry, and a Lindor entry, which is 2.

damn it's a true ********
so if i want it to work i must delete entries in EDU and moddel_battle.... i think we only need a little part of these two files... how did they with these additionnal unit mod...????
the first line of moddel files say :
22 serialization::archive 3 0 0 0 0 1147 0 0
so this number 1147, what does it means.?

Try the Text Editing Forum - I think i may have accidentally linked to the Rome one by accident, but the M2TW will be able to help you far more than what I'm able to.

1147 is the count of units using a new model 
If you model for example an elf with a two-handed axe, and want to add him into the game
you add a new entry.

oh so when i duplicate i don't need to change this number, only in the case of a completly new unit entry....

for the rest of my question in this thread, i have the answer.... a "0" missing at the end of my entry.
