Not all of us are.

There is a growing number who really could give less of a about the religion or faith of another person, so long as it does not interfere with our own practice.

I believe you should say, rather than "Americans", "paranoid right-wing, ignorant social conservatives who have their heads so far up their asses that they cannot fathom the fact that religion should play no role in government and are distracting us from the real issues".

The above is rather long winded, of course, but far more accurate.

Also, the above is not meant to denigrate all conservatives or Republicans, seeing as i possess rather conservative views on many of the issues (well, the economic ones anyways) I will mention below. Just those who try to distract us with their arguments and issues with religion, when we have bigger problems to face, like a flagging economy, two wars (Iraq is most definitely not over), North Korea and its psychotic and attention starved leader, and a budget spiraling out of control. Those are real issues, not religion.
