    Default disabling traits?

    Is it possible to disable some negative traits that are given to generals? Or at least decrease the chance of them happening? It sucks when a 26 year old crown prince goes crazy and loses 3 command stars. Even the alcoholic and skiewed views are getting old. If this is possible could anyone elaborate. Thanks.

    the simplest way is to edit the
    export_descr_charcter_traits.txt file and add ; to the start of the following lines:

    ;------------------------------------------
    ;Trigger Insane_From_Wars
    ; WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
    ;
    ; Condition Trait Hardened >= 2
    ;
    ; Affects Deranged 1 Chance 5

    ---------------------------------------

    ;Trigger disaster
    ; WhenToTest CharacterDamagedByDisaster
    ;
    ; Condition RandomPercent < 96
    ;
    ; Affects Superstitious 1 Chance 5
    ; Affects Deranged 1 Chance 3

    -------------------------------------------

    remember to make a back-up of the original file first, rename as orig_export_descr_charcter_traits.txt

    and then save the new version as

    export_descr_charcter_traits.txt

    (this only deals with 2 of the triggers for the deranged traits - you'll have to search for the triggers for the alcoholic traits.)

    Oh yes you'll need to start a new campaign for this to work properly as changes to the traits system can cause unpredictable results
    with saved games.

    Ok, I noticed what you posted is the same thing I have in my txt file. So am I supposed to set all to 0 or something?

    edit: re-read your reply seems to make sense now, adding ; to the start of the lines sorry for being a noob.

    hate to bring up a old thread but I noticed that my settings had changed once again so I re-applied the disabling traits. Now the game crashes to desktop upon boot up. Could some one please send me their copy of their export_descr_charcter_traits.txt. I seem to have misplaced my original thanks.

    anyone? All I need is a copy of the export_descr_charcter_traits.txt for the RR/RC submod found in the data folder.

    changing traits mid-campaign will give problems.

    I've posted revised versions of 4 traits files (for vanilla non-byg versions of game) here:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...52#post6133952

    note I haven't been able to check the campaign_script for traits issues as Squid's tool doesn't work on those files (yet.)
