No Desktop Shortcut 6.2

hey all this is my first post glad to be a member, now i just installed m2tw then kingdoms and chose not to have desktop shortcuts b/c I'm not going to play them so then I installed SS6.1 and I didn't see any SS shortcuts on my desktop I then installed 6.2 and the bug fixes and the desktop shortcuts to launch the game never appeared i only have the m2tw launcher in the main folder. How can i launch 6.2? any help would be much appreciated, ty.

Hello Dunty12, there should be a folder called "mods" in your main Total War folder,

go to mods > Stainless_Steel_6

and there should be a batch file called "Stainless_Steel Kingdoms"

You just double click that to launch SS, if you want a shortcut, just make one from the batch file and copy and paste it on your desktop.

And if you want it to have the icon, you right click on the shortcut and select "Change Icon" on the bottom

yeah I looked in the main total war folder and the ss6 folder in the mods folder and the bat. file wasn't there and the ss6.1 folder was only 300kb in size! how big is the ss.6 folder supposed to be? I think i may have to reinstall lol...

I think you'd have to reinstall then!!

Make sure you got both part 1 AND part 2 of SS6.0 installed first

Then install 6.1
then 6.2

also another question im using firefox and lately when I try to download stuff other than ss I have to open the the download by right clicking in that little box because it wont give me any desktop shortcuts like i used to. and i keep my pc clean so i don't know what it is does anyone no how to always get shortcuts by default when you dl stuff? k ty this was my first time ising rapid share mayb i dis sumtin wrong cause the folder was way too small.

Unless its some plugin, usually when stuff is downloaded, it goes to your default download folder, maybe your default download folder used to be your desktop

I have Windows XP and use firefox. My default download folder is C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\Downloads. user is the username you use to log in to Windows. DDL (Direct DownLoad) servers tend to crap-out for me. If your file isn't the correct size, try downloading again. Often, the download will pick up where it left off.

I think the OP is just missing some of the install, the size of SS should be in gigs...

Tru dat. The latest RR/RC compilation is about 3 gig, and my SS mod folder is 7.7 gig, so SS v6.2 should be around 4.5 gig. DDL links tend to die during the download, in my experience (I live in Ohio, USA; your internet connection might be different than mine). Simply retrying will start the download from the point it left at (assuming you didn't delete it). That's why I use torrents No worries about not finishing the download, or receiving a corrupted copy.
