dos box selcetion options at start
stupid question but:
what does the second part at start mean.
first part (letters) is clear its to pick a start date
second part (numbers) is not clear to me. it lists high era events at different dates and a mongol invasion option
how does this selection affect the game?

You will be instructed to use the second part of the menu (with numbers) by events that occur during the campaign. Basically they enable faction names, etc... to change during the campaign. They help to maintain historical accuracy, when dynasties change or states are elevated to Kingdoms.Originally Posted by Ahlerich

thanks for the quick reply. i must admit i dont entirely get it yet. i guess i just wait for the event, read it and learn by doing.
so when i start a campaign do i not select any number already, or the lowest one?

No, at the start of a campaign, you shall select only the era letters.
As SV says, the other part are in-campaign operations.

hi,
im playin the early era as france. an event happened after turn 45 or so sayin somethin about the crusades era startin, but it didnt say to do anything. what do these events you mentioned actuallly ask you to do? must the game be reloaded and a different letter be typed?
and what do you mean by "use the second part of the menu (wuth numbers)? only letters can be entered or do i have that wrong?

No, the crusader event is a normal campaign message (historical event: 1st crusade), and has nothing to do with the dos-box launcher.
