    Hi there. Since I saw screens I'm pretty temped to try this fantastic mod out. But what I am trying to do is to import some units to SS6.2 RC by editing (copying) the files. Although my RTW was modded nicely I did not touch MTW2 itself .

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    EDU
    EDB
    copy TGAs

    anything more?
    I found some unit models, textures and sprites in SS models folder...
    Dunno how to edit battle_models.modeldb


    Any quick tips and help? Does anyone ever tried to do same thing with KoH 1.02? Won't I hit the units limit?

    Okay, if you're trying to take my files and implement them into your SS v6.2, you're going to have to essentially learn to mod Medieval 2. There are ENDLESS tutorials on how to do stuff in the Mod Workshop. In there they have a wonderful index on tutorials and guides, and I personally bookmarked them on my browser for reference all throughout my modding experience. But since you'll already have all my files, you can just copy-paste the data files over SS's. You can refer to the Change Log to see what I removed to put the new stuff in.

    A bug notice, after installing Kingdom the Teutonic Knights and Dismounted Teutonic Knights are missing their skin, they are now white glowing ghost unit.
    Also The Teutonic Order can build them now, i guess that is a mistake.

    Well crap. No, that was originally part of the mod. The #1 reason I started it was because I was playing a TO campaign that was abruptly stopped because my inability to attain a ceasefire with the HRE meant my best, Ritterbruder-led armies were being matched blow for blow by the HRE because Hamburg and Frankfurt had the TO chapter houses. And the fact that the HRE was spawning stacks of Ritterbruder against me really ticked me off. I mean, why bother playing as the TO if your best unit is available to the HRE, which is therefore a much better faction. But then I saw BftB2 and what CC and Firebat were doing with that. And I decided it would be silly to deal with the Teuts if they were doing it, too. Especially since I wanted to merge the two mods.

    I'll fire up a quick hotfix for that, and if I have a day off from work anytime soon, I'll see about compiling a new install file for you guys.

    Is there any way that this mod can be compatible with v6.2? Also if you add the principality of Antioch, which civ do you take out?

    This mod will be made compatible with v6.2 when BftB2 is made compatible for 6.2. It will also be made compatible with RR/RC when BftB2 comes out, as it will most likely be compatible with that as well. If you read the Change Log or Features list on the first page, you'd see I removed the Knights Templar to add Antioch. Since SS 6.2 removed the Templar to add in the Timurids, you'd have to pick someone else to remove.

    Sorry I haven't put up the hotfix yet, Sneaking Viper. I've been working a lot and haven't been feeling much drive to pull open the text files. Making that KoH + BftB2 + CBUR compilation mod will take a while, and so I never really intended to mod much until CC releases his mod. Don't want to burn myself out! That being said, however, I should have some free time soon, and therefore I can say the hotfix (and potentially new install executable) will be out... soon.

    UPDATE :: Here are the hotfixed files to fix that Teutonic Knight mix-up. The forums won't let me upload the battle_models file, but it SHOULD be the regular SS setup for the Teuts (having no entry in the battle_models.db is one reason for glowing white dudes). Either way, I'm repacking the install now. Should be up by tonight

    ANOTHER UPDATE :: Filefront is being a pain in the ass yet again. It uploads at a ridiculously fast speed, but then seemingly freezes my internet. I can't even check my e-mail after it hits the "100% uploaded" mark. So unless I can get good ol' Akolythos to upload the new one, the hotfix will just have to do. I apologize for the inconvenience.

    King,

    First let me say that I am incredibly grateful for all of the time, effort, and energy you have expended putting this mod together. I am absolutely intrigued by this era of history. To be able to play it on the M2TW platform is a real pleasure.

    Just to explain my background a little bit ... I recently installed SS 6.1 and began playing it. At this time I am not playing with any of the submod options included with the 6.1 installer and checked the box to have the supply system removed. I have read all the posts relating to this thread and it is unclear (to me at least, and that is no reflection on the clarity of the earlier posts) whether or not the KoH 1.2 install will require some additional action to disable the supply system or if KoH 1.2 install will allow me to play absent the supply system without any further action on my part beyond just merely intstalling KoH.

    As I become more proficient with SS I intend to activate the supply system feature but right now I just want to absorb and learn SS without the supply system feature (sort of intending to graduate into that mode of play).

    You download the file. It will ask where you want it saved. You direct it to wherever you have Stainless Steel installed (Medieval 2 Total War/mods/Stainless_Steel_6...), then go into the "data" folder, and save it. It will ask if you want to overwrite the file. Click "yes". It will overwrite it. It should now work.

    Or, if you use firefox, before it downloads select save file, once it's downloaded navigate to your downlaods folder and copy it to your SS folder. Let it overwrite anything.
