The trailer is finally out. It looks decent, though I think they should have picked other people for the leads. EffectsFight scenes

I was just about to post this. I've really never played the games, but I love all things Persian and exoctic, so I'm probably going to see it.
Disney :S
Gyllenhaal :S
I don't know....
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
They completely mess up the story!!!!! Why TT's feature would appear in SoT??? Why the prince looks like prince from WW???
Damned, I thought SoT is the best one for Disney to produce because its pro-children environment, but then Disney screw up!!!!
The last bunch of video to movie adaptations have sucked, so I truly hope and believe this will be good.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.
No, what Disney did is adding more stuff for a 6 hours game; clearly, there is no plot about bring the Dagger of Time to some ancient temple or what ever it is in original game (it only happens in WW, where Prince tries to find the origin of Sand of Time). The plot of Sand of Time in game is simple; Prince captured some foreign stuff from India, he messed it up and turned everyone into sand monsters, and then he found out it was a plot by Vizier and tried to reach the center of Palace to finish Vizier to stop Sand of Time.
And yet there's quite a few key parts of the level design that they just don't have time for. The Caves, the Library, the Dungeon, the Cages. The list goes on. This is assuming we want to do a movie with only three characters, which would really be a league of suck all its own.

I actually think Gyllenhaal or whatever his name does look very similar to the prince from the game, but he was in the day after tomorrow and Brokeback mountain so he is not immune to being in ridiculously horrible god awful films.

Hey, this movie has that one Brokeback Mountain cowboy in it? I didn't like that movie, but maybe I'll like this movie. Action-adventure movies are a good genre, so maybe this'll be real good. Prince of Persia is based on the old Xbox game of the same name, just a little trivia for you young folks. I can remember five years ago seeing that at a Washington D.C. retail store...
To me it looks they are kind of combining the three iterations of the prince into one, you have the sands of time element with the dagger, he also looks like the prince from warrior within, and in that one scene his arm looks just like it does in PoP Two Thrones with the Dark Prince infection.

A mystical-exotic 1001 Arabian Nights kind of movie with the Sands of Time concept and characters would have been possible under a different studio and director/producer. It's obvious, though, that what Disney wants (and Bruckheimer always does) is create a new super-franchise cash cow like Pirates of the Caribbean or Transformers.
It might be good, bad, anywhere in between. The special effects are looking good, if not over-the-top at times, and depending on the profit margin we may be getting one or two sequels afterward.
Also, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.
actually looks half decent
Wow, looks pretty cool.
1) It's finally a game adaption not done by Uwe Boll
2) It looks very true to the game in story and atmosphere
Kinda speaks for that game series whose narration I found very cool when I played it when a movie is made seemingly very close to its concept.
anyhow it's a game adaption. Those are not famous for being as cool as the game most of the time...
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

You can't really expect much from movies based on games, I haven't seen the latest like Max Payne but they all pretty much have the same plot and suck really bad.
The trailer was cool but something just feels wrong, what scares me the most is Ben Kingsley, it seems like he's looking for movies that are each time worst than the last and movie productions haven't done a good characterization on him since Gandhi.
I kinda liked that trailer.
Plus I'm a hesitant fan of Gyllenhaal.
District 9 is the best movie adaptation of a game that never existed, if you get what I'm saying, I couldn't help thinking of videogames when I watched it. And the fact that the director was going to make a Halo movie makes it so frustrating, it might have been the movie to open the door for better adaptations. Anyone seen this:
