Being raised in a Christian family eager to press their views onto me, I came to accept Christianity as the truth. However, as I grew older, my views came to diverge from that of my parents. While neither my parents nor I know exactly what sect/branch of christianity we belong to, I am certain I belong to a different sect/branch. You may be reading this and say "Why does it matter?", to which I must answer "It doesn't." I am simply curious.
Any ideas?
- I do not believe the Bible is "The Word of God", I believe "The Word" referenced in Genesis is probably language itself.
- I do believe in evolution, but not on a large scale (i.e.: monkeys can't turn into humans, but things like birds can become another type of bird)
- I do not see God as benevolent, I see him as easily angered, jealous, etc
- I believe that God determines some part of one's Fate, but only some part(s)
- I do not believe God likes hearing everyone's prayers, especially when they're asking him for something. I also think he dislikes it when one prays out loud near others, rather than to one's self
- I do not think that God particularly wanted the Bible to be compiled (not saying created as it is a compilation of different works)
