Default Mods for a completely new player?

    Hey All,

Well, I finally got this game and it's really awesome. Are there any mods that I should take that doesn't give give an overhaul of the game? I want to play vanilla before I go for those Total Conversion mods. All i'm looking at is the Animation Compilation, should I get that?

That sounds fine. Or you could also try the Form Ranks mod:
    http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1417
(Notice to install: first make an exact copy of the folder Mount&Blade/modules/native, rename it as FormRanks, and copy all MOD files into that folder(except module.ini), replace all.)

I can also recommend the Brutality mod (although having one gun unit it stays native):
    http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=960

Or if you want a little fantasy, but still in native, there's my own () SAVAGE mod:

Thanks for those, I'll keep your SAVAGE mod in mind when i'm going to start a new game. Can I use these mods together? Or can I only use them one at a time?

You can only use one mod at a time.
But there are of course graphical mods and other 'add-ons' that can be installed in other mods,
like Colorful Textures mod, Calradia Map Refinement, Battle Size Changer etc.

But these 'major' mods can't be combined.

Depends on your definition of Total Conversion I guess.

If you want more kingdoms and stuff, get the Southern Realms mod. It has something like 20 new factions and a whole bunch of features (though it is quite a bit different from Native)

If you want big improvements but things still staying in native, get Native Expansion Mod or 1257

One of the few modifications I can whole-heartedly recommend is Prophesy of Pendor:
    http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.p...c,53027.0.html

Absolutely huge remake of the game, different factions, thousands of new items and hundreds of new soldiers and opportunities. Quite a fun game.
We have a thread about it here, just press Ctrl F and input "Pendor" in the Mods subforum and you'll find it. The size of it (15 or so pages) truly shows how much of a great mod it is. You can find screenshots there as well, and stories of it.

Wow, that Pendor mod is huge, but maybe for later game. Hmm Thanks Snoopy, i'll see about those. Ok, good thing i'm not looking for any major mods right now.
