Default How to remove fire by rank and change unit names

    Can anyone tell me how?

I am using DB editor and playing with darthmod. I want to remove fire by rank and change the unit names (IE: Dragoons to Policemen. General's Bodyguard to General's Staff)

Well I know you can change unit names in patch_en/text/localisation.loc.

How do I find that file via DB editor?

You actually need to use the Pack File Manager 1.12 for that.

In "unit_to_unit_abilities_table" take out lines that have your unit and "rank_fire" in them.

change it to mass_fire instead, you cannot have an empty field.

If you are editing CA's packs then uncheck "read only" from the file menu.

Oh OK Now I got it. Do I just remove it and leave it blank or do I replace it with anything? Fire volley?

Now I crash to desktop when I start up.

Screw it - I changed it to fire volley and it still says/does rank fire.

    I give up

Fire by rank is considered an upgrade to fire volley - therefore if you research it, it will replace it

I also have this problem. I did this on my last mod, it worked perfectly but when I try it now it wont work! I also tried to replace "light infantry drill" with "line infantry drill" but it dident work either...

    Am I doing anything wrong?
