Taiji Why I want to be a citizen

I've been a regular visitor to the site since well before my signing up to be able to post. And it's been a very useful and interesting place. Above all I think there is a great community here and I want to make the effort to see where it is going, and maybe help it along. So I want to become a citizen to see what they do, to know better how the site is run and to give feedback about current and future issues.

My contributions

I'm a modder and I've done a bit too much really, sorry, this is going to be long...

Redesigned the battlefield system for Deus Lo Vult (a mod with around 500 units) pretty much from scratch, almost nothing is unchanged and much, if not most, is different to every other mod checked. Imported the CBUR rosta and many units from Rusichi:TW. Made a recruitment system that only works for the AI and seems to force it to build good stuff.

Also made a battleAI, complete with formations, to match the EDU system. The approach is innovative and balanced by literally 1000+ of hours of playtesting, the masses of feedback received has also helped a great deal.

Animations. I've introduced many new animation 'types' to basically restrict certain animations. This way I have created several types for each weapon, which gives me a method of literally making better units appear to fight better. So the animation types are then distributed by unit quality. Plus there is some innovative stuff in there, battles in DLV really should look different to other mods.

I've been helping (and helped!) in the modding forums quite a bit. I try to pass on the help I receive in this way.

Also I've a tendency to run my mouth in the 'Ethos, Mores, et Monastica' forum. Well of course I think I am making good arguments, enlightening the masses, etc. but really I'm probably just preaching and ranting like everone else.

jimkatalanos I wish to nominate Taiji for Artifex. He has done lots of work for the Deus Lo Vult mod(Harry can confirm this I guess), and he offers his help in the modding forums. He is also active in the DD(mainly the EMM) contributing in debates with his ideas and opinions. He looks like a good bloke who loves this community, I think by becoming a citizen he will be able to contribute even more.

I would like to hear from Harry about his mod contributions but if he has done what he says he has I think this may be an easy one.

This is where I am credited for my work on DLV 6.2.

This is my current thread, the change list goes on forever despite lacking a load of detail.

Here is the previous thread which covers the work leading up to DLV 6.0.

I've also done other stuff like importing Xenophonia for DLV, making a BAI for TA:TW, etc. but they're tiny points next to my 'Battlefield Ballance' project.

I would have proposed him a long time ago except I don't sponsor people any more. He is the most active of the DLV developers and has contributed a helluva lot in the last year of development. On the basis of his Ethos posts I couldn't grant citizenship but for his modding work, his helpful attitude around DLV and the modding forums he is an absolute shoe-in for Artifex.

This would be a big Yes from me too.
Beside the arguments some of you already mention (which would be enough for citizenship) I would like to add that he is TWC member since 2005 and he never received a single moderator’s note.

You mean he's not a Citizen or Artifex already? Geez, I totally missed that.

A very large yes in that case. A long overdue one, in my opinion.

Would have patronized him myself in due time, just had too much else going on. It's a definite yes from me, and I would point out that one of his shining contributions is his involvement in the workshops. I count that very highly since you're spending time helping other people achieve their modding goals, rather than purely working for your own.
