    Default A little help, please!

Hey everyone, I have a couple of questions and during my first looking around here they weren't solved. So here goes:

    1. What are those strange extras you can include manually during the installation process and how do they affect the mod?

    2. I downloaded patch 6.2, but it said that with the above mentioned features the patch won't work. Did I understand that correctly and what do I have to do to install 6.2 if this is the case?

    3. Every other turn the right to knight somebody (which I gathered means to spawn heavy cavalry troops) is changed, but even if everybody has the right to do so or if only the members of the war council may, I'm not able to do it in my castles and fortresses, even if the war council members are present. The cavalry units are always grey and never "arrive"... Also, there's almost 100 % catholicism in these areas. So what am I doing wrong?

Other than those problems I really love the mod, huge map, an incredible eye for detail and challenging/interesting features. Thank you so very much!

    1. Permanent arrows (requires high-end computer), Byg's Grim Reality III or IV (or both, I really don't remember) which makes the game harder and more realistic, RR/RC compilation which makes combat and recruitment more realistic (and harder *surprise*) (check the submods forum). Nothing else I think. Correct me if I'm wrong (probably I am).

    2. Maybe some of those mods don't work with 6.2 but 6.1 instead.

    3. Perhaps you installed RR/RC already, or it's some kind of bug?

Nope, that's all. But I don't know why you can't recruit knights. Maybe you should ask in the 6.2 thread?

The installer gave you links to information threads for RealRecruitment and Byg's Grim Reality. Check the submods forum for these threads.

Just reinstall the 6.1 patch but dont select any of those submods.

You have Byg's Grim Reality installed and there is a patch that you need to install for it located at the bottom of the first post in the Byg's Grim Reality thread in the submods forum.

Please do a search on the forum before posting a new thread. All of those questions have been asked and answered many times before. You wont have to wait for an answer if you do.

Permanent arrows are just that. Arrows will stick in the ground when fired, and not dissapear over time. Can be tough on slower computers.

RR/RC affects when units can be recruited. They'll only become available at the correct historical time - no recriuting gunpowder units in 1200.

Bygs Grim Reality, adds systems such as Faction Zeal, the War Counsil, Supplies and more. You can read more in the link I included in question 3.

Well, if you download Gracul's 6.2 mod you shouldn't tick any of the options, as 6.2 in it's baseform doesn't include RR/RC or BRG. However, if you'd like those mods, I'd suggest you'd download Point Blank's latest RR/RC Compilation. It includes 6.2, RR/Rc (Obviously), the latest BGR, and a bunch of other cool add-ons. Be aware that it'll also make the game more difficult. Read the thread, or atleast the first post before installing, so you'll know what's what.

That's a very commonly reported problem. It's due to a bug with the BGR mod that's included in 6.1. You can download a fix here (or the latest version of BGR), but both will require you to start a new campaign.

Edit: Bah! Ninjaed! That'll teach me to work and post at the same time..

I wish arrows would be permanent in their collision locations with units.

Seeing a general with three dozen arrows stuck out of him would make me ROFLCOPTER.

Thanks everybody, especially PerXX, that was exactly what I needed!
And sorry about asking these questions for the thousandth time (as I can imagine), but I'm not that good at searching forums, don't have the skills *g* Maybe someone should create an FAQ sticky for these FAQ's...
