    Default $50k corruption trigger

    Hi,

I had heard that in vanilla RTW and M2TW, once you end turn with a treasury of over $50k, your family members start getting really corrupt cuz they have so much money sitting in the treasury.

But I think $50k is so little especially when considering in SS we are required to conquer 70 territories. Also i know a lot of people are like me and would like to save some funds before going into big wars.

So in Stainless Steel, is the trigger still there?

    Where/how can I increase it to $500k?

I did that with RTW, but I dont know the file name for M2TW.

    thanks heaps

The trigger is still there but I think it is 60k. These traits are usually put there to stop you from gaining too much money and therefore making the game easier. Most of these traits have no adverse effects on your family members apart from limiting your cashflow, in most of my games if I manage to get over 60k I have already passed the ealry game threshold and put myself in the position that I can´t lose the game anymore.

you have to change the variable in the triggers in the traits file. If I were at home and not at work I could give you step to step instructions...

It's not that hard, just search (in export_descr_traits.txt) for Corrupt, then the trigger and change the ammount/change/whatever you wanna do.

Hehe, I earn nearly 90k per turn and I don't have any corrupt generals... I do have 10k global corruption though.

90K a turn, wtf how do you do that?! I've got 40 territories, all very rich and only earn 10k a turn or something

I'm guessing he means that he's got an income of 90K, not counting expenses.

I one time got an income counting expenses on 50k but dont remember in which mod... it was probably vanilla or something...

I think the trait line he's talking about is the "ExpensiveTastes" trait line, which gives "Extravagant", "Royally_Extravagant" and "Wildly_Extravagant" traits, effects are increased construction costs, reduced tax income and reduced squallor (the last being a good effect).

The Trait line still exists in Stainless Steel, with multiple triggers, but the trigger to get it by having a treasury in excess of 50,000 at turn end has been removed. Good Riddance. In vanilla/mods that still have this trigger, once you get rich enough that you end turn with >50k in treasury you quickly get this awful trait line on EVERY general/family member you have.

    YES Callawyn,
That is exactly what I'm talking about. It was ridiculous and annoying to have it so low at $50k, especially if you have a lot of provinces.

Good to hear that it has been removed.

thats wonderful. It shows that the modders know what they are doing.

    Thank you

There's no such thing. He's referring to a trait line trigger based on cash on hand at end of turn.

Pretty sure in the finances summary screen there is a line that shows how much money you lose per turn to corruption.

If your generals have <100% movement left then the triggers don't happen. You don't need to mod your game.
