Default Blockading a port money gain?

Was always wondering if I can actually gain florins when blockading a port. If sent on a mission the description mentions something about "filling our own coffers" but I've never really seen a difference.

So does anyone have any idea how it works and whether this has been retouched in SS?
It's certain that the sea trade routes are cut off but if the attacker is gaining anything how much it really is? The amount of sea trade income appropriated, maybe some %?

You did gain a small amount of Florins in the past, but I don't think you do now. When I say "the past" I mean in either Vanilla or 6.1, I haven't noticed anything in 6.2. I'm leaning towards Vanilla giving you an income from blockades and SS giving you nothing.

I don't know how it works(ed), but if it was a percentage then blockading certain ports would be a massive money-spinner.

With the AI money scripts in 6.1, blockading ports was a waste of time. Thankfully it seems more effective in 6.2, regardless of any money that may be gained by the player.

I think that by blockading a port, you do get money, at least in 6.0 anyways. I blockaded Constantinople, Jerusalem and Alexandria on the same turn, and saw that I was getting 10k under the 'corruption' tag. Removing the ships from the ports took that away. I think it's just the fact that you need to pick the ports of wealthy cities to get the benefit.

Well, I'll play a bit more these days (version 6.2), trying to assemble a good fleet to block some major ports & infiltrate the cities with spies to see how much this will change both my and the settlement's income.

Aye, the AI in SS (even 6.2) often has a hard time assembling good fleets to counter a good half-stack of decent ships, like say cogs. Get a force like that, then hit the big ports of whatever major sea you got access to, preferably mediterenan. Once your there, go for constantinople, Venice, if your at war with them anyway, Jerusalem, and generally all those big juicy coastal fatimid cities, they all make good money.

Ive had my fleet blocading constantinople for several YEARS now and still the byzantines havent noticed. Lol.
