Yes and no. It's designed with BI in mind, but I think you could probably just run it off of RTW.exe with no ill effects. Give it a try...worst that'll happen is a CTD. If it doesn't work, I know for a fact that you can easily modify it to run off RTW.exe. Just follow the instructions that are stickied in the forum.

Do I need RTW, or can I download over RTR?
Well, you definitely need at least a Rome: Total War disk. However, you do _not_ need RTR. The full installation of the ExRM contains everything you need (besides a fully patched RTW or BI installation, of course).

It doesn't go without BI...
Is there a non-BI version of the patch?
I realy wont something against the Macedonians that expand trought the north...
Yes, it should work quite well without BI. Try installing it and seeing what happens. If it crashes, just follow the advice in the stickied thread in the ExRM forum about getting it to work with RTW.

It says that it can't find a file, e.g. the skeletons file or so...
It's pretty random...
In that case, I recommend following the instructions in the thread about how to get it to run with RTW.exe. It's definitely do-able.

'Delete all instances of...'
With this he means to erase the words that replace the dots above ha?
Oh, and if I run the game, it says that it can't load the mount database...
EDIT:
After a while it said that it couldn't find the 'african elephant' mount or something...
Maybe the mount file is corrupted...

Yes, erase those words.
It sounds like a bad installation. Are you running Vista? If so, did you follow the installation instructions?

I have windows XP, and the ExRm map is right next to the data map.
Do you mean the ExRM folder and the Data folder? The map folders shouldn't be visibly next each other.

The ExRM folder should be sitting next to your Data and BI folders.

That looks correct. Do you have the English version of RTW? Also, is it fully patched to 1.5?

Oh, dear. You installed the non-mod-switch version of RTRPE, didn't you?
