2am Curfew
This thread is mainly directed at the other Scots, but who else thinks that a 2am curfew is completely retarded? I am not entirely sure about England or the other UK nations ie Northenr Ireland and Wales, but in Scotland we have an entirely retarded way of trying to control drunken violence and the most annoying one at present is the 2am curfew, town usually shuts at 3am in Scotland on Fridays and Saturdays but a stupid new law has recently been imposed that means that anyone who is outside of a nightclub at 2am won't be allowed back in anywhere even if they were just in it at say, 1:50am. Nightclubs shut at the usual time of 3am but anyone outside is not allowed back in, that means no going to the bank to get more money out or to the shop to buy food or cigarettes. This has led to quite a deal more drunken violence as people get annoyed at having been turned away from nightclubs that they were just in even though the clubs are open for another hour, and given how incompetent the Scottish police are at actually preventing crime (you have to actually have been victimised before the police will even consider doing anything) this curfew seems entirely unncecessary. So, who else thinks that there should be a 2am curfew in Scotland even though the nightclubs shut at 3am? Feel free to cast your opinion even if you are not Scottish or residing in Scotland atm.
